Next up is our Assistant Stage Manager, Olivia Gouveia! 🩷🐍💚 Olivia is incredibly grateful to be working as an Assistant Stage Manager for Dos Mundos Theatre Company’s production of Snacey for the 2024 Toronto Fringe Festival. She has previously been an Apprentice ASM on York’s Fall production of Bakkhai, an ASM on Great Felt Greatness (York’s playGround Festival), an ASM on 45 Minutes (York’s Devised Theatre Festival), and Assistant Head of Wardrobe on York’s Winter production of Radium Girls. Olivia is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre, with aspirations to specialize in Production & Design in her second year at York. Now presenting our Assistant Stage Manager, Katrina Peralta! 🩷🐍💚 Katrina is a recent graduate of York University’s Film Production program, completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. In school, she went around doing almost a bit of everything but found her love in production managing work by her final year in school. After school, she interned for two production companies, Fae Pictures and Zapruder Films, under the mentorship of leading producers in the country. Now presenting our Set Designer, Millie Cameron! 🩷🐍💚 Millie Cameron is an emerging set and costume designer currently residing in Toronto. She is overjoyed to have the opportunity to design for the youngest of theatre enjoyers, whilst working alongside such an incredible team of creatives! Next up is our Sound Designer, Cynthia Cepeda! 💚🐍🩷 Cynthia Cepeda (she/her) is a multimedia artist based in Toronto, Ontario. Her work focuses on themes of memory, transition, and childhood, influenced by both her Latin Americanness and her queerness. As a filmmaker, print, and sound artist, Cynthia is always touching upon feelings of yearning, and need for expression, especially because of her experience growing up in urban suburbia. Previously, Cynthia has worked as a sound recordist on multiple films for Toronto Metropolitan University productions, and her own written and directed film, Watermelon Social, has been nominated in the Best Drama category for the Alternative Film Festival. She is also a recipient of the 2024 Creative Arts Student Association BIPOC Artists Award. Following up is our Lighting Designer, Vasilisa “Vas” Filippova! 🩷🐍💚 Vasilisa “Vas” Filippova (she/her) is a York University student entering her fourth year of Theatre Production and Design. In 2023, she was the head electrician for Theatre@York’s Dance Nation, lit end-of-year dance shows at U of T’s MacMillan Theatre, and designed lighting for a piece featured in York’s choreography showcase Dance Innovations. Earlier this year, Vasilisa was the lighting designer for Davie and Thurlow at Theatre@York’s playGround Festival. A dusted up group of weirdos toil away the evenings in one of Kensington Market’s evaporating watering holes. Recently acquired by a corporation, these nerdewels fight to maintain “Our Lady Kensington’s” toxic yet radiant culture against the ever pressing foot of corporate standardization. They are an institution, and burn it all to hell if they’re going to change. 86 ME will be performed at Supermarket in Kensington Market as a part of the Toronto Fringe Festival in the unconventional venue category. For the past 6 months, I've been writing a brand new play, and for the past few months, I've been looking into ways to produce this play. That led to the creation of Fresh Pallet Theatre Company (a company with only one member) and eventually to me putting my name into the Toronto Fringe Festival lottery, and a few days ago, my name was drawn! I know crazy right?! I've never had luck with these kinds of things. Toronto Fringe is an indie theatre festival where chosen creators are given a chance to produce to their hearts content. It's been held every July for the past 30 or so years. Being chosen means I have a chance to produce my play, but to do so, I need to raise enough money to pay the acceptance fee by December 20th. Hence, this GoFundMe campaign. If you contribute, you get me one step closer to being able to produce my first ever play, which, needless to say, would be a huge step for me! For the last two weeks, I have had the privilege to be part of a wonderful production of a new musical called “The Man With The Golden Heart” at the @toronto_fringe Festival. As many of you know, live theatre holds a very special place in my heart, and to be able to be a part of something *brand new* with a powerhouse cast and a wildly talented creative team has been such a phenomenal and soul-filling experience. @seok.andrew has once again created a very special piece of art with this show @mghmusical I also had the chance to meet, work with, and become fast friends with a new (to me) music director @j.corkal.astorga and once again play another show with an old friend @alex.toskov.music Two weeks ago, this show was highly anticipated, quickly became a “critics’ pick,” received a ton of buzz, and then very quickly SOLD OUT the entire rest of the run.
