People don't realise my medication can save me and keep me living but it can also kill me . The struggle is real today. I have had two dangerous lows and some highs today. I don't understand what is going on with my body today and it's emotional and it's exhausting. But most of all it is scary, my body is still shaking from my most recent low and all I can think about is I really don't want to die in my sleep. Dead in bed is a real scenario for type one diabetics. A low blood sugar is so dangerous and for some reason my body is having them severely today. Up down up down is how the day has been. My blood sugars weren't the best for a while and I am finally receiving the help from the professionals I needed! Everything seemed to be working perfectly but today, today I'm at a loss at what is happening. All I can hope for is to wake up in the morning and it is a better day. I fight this alone as so many people around me don't quite understand the mental and physical exhaustion. Having a low is a weakening feeling and having a high is a sickening feeling. All the feelings and symptoms argh! But I know the people around me love and care and that's really all I want and ask for. I don't want the disease to define me and the embarrassment and shame is real although it shouldn't be there it is.
