Food Friday! One of our most favorite meals at the parks is the bread sourdough bread bowls from the Pacific Wharf Cafe. My favorite soup to get is the broccoli cheese soup, and the kids love the macaroni and cheese. We usually end up getting 2 to share between all 6 of us because we eat every last piece of the bread bowl! Pacific Wharf Cafe’s new Strawberry Cheesecake Bread Pudding is more like a sweet pull apart bread topped with a delightful cheesecake sauce, a mountain of whipped cream, warm strawberry sauce and toasted pie crust crumbles. This is either a shareable dessert or an entire meal, whichever you decide, just know it is pretty reasonably sized for the price and more filling than you would think. This was definitely a winner! The Berries and Cream Bread Pudding was excellent and had slightly out done Knott's Boysenberry Bread Pudding! Sadly, today was the last day to get it at #dca #disneycaliforniaadventure at the #pacificwharfcafe. This was part of #thefoodandwinefestival. This had great flavor and texture with great carmelization, adding a slight crunch to the edges. Everything blended well with the flavors. Hope it comes back on the menu soon!

Disclaimer ~ Do not be deceived by how pretty or substantial this dish looks 😏 Sorry it’s taken so long for me to finally post this, but here it is! The Grilled Peach Toast from Pacific Wharf Cafe ~ I gave it a 2/10 when I was eating it last week because there were a few things about it that were really pissing me off. First off, it is impossible to eat it the way they intended for us to eat it. You can’t pick it up and bite into it and get all of the components into one perfect bite because it’s just too frikin’ big. And there’s no way the plastic knife they provide will cut through that bread…trust me, I tried. My biggest peeve about this dish is the fact that they used either canned or frozen peaches, they are definitely not fresh. The only thing more gross than a preserved peach slice is a grilled preserved peach slice 😖 They also rolled the prosciutto instead of just draping it over the toast, one of the main reasons it is impossible to just take a bite out of this thing. It also isn’t good prosciutto 🫤 It’s loose, it’s cut very thick and when you’re done chewing it you’ll end up having to spit out a piece of sinew that just won’t break down. I love how much arugula they put on the toast, and while the bread is actually delicious and has a great flavor it is hard and difficult to eat. I basically ate it like a salad accompanied by a gigantic piece of bread. Not the experience I wanted or expected when I chose to spend one of my Sip n Savor tabs on this. But good thing I used a tab because I would’ve been very upset if I had spent $10 on this dish. It looks like a big hefty dish which would justify the price, but the quality in my opinion is poor. Lunch last Saturday was at #PacificWharfCafe. I tried the new chipotle chicken sandwich. I'm not thrilled with the proliferation of focaccia bread for sandwiches, but this was pretty good and much firmer than usual, so I liked it. The sandwich was tasty but messy and was falling apart easily, so i ended up eating it in bits. The husband wanted to try the #disney100 platinum trifle. Lunch today was at #pacificwharfcafe . Tried out the new chicken tortilla soup with grilled corn, fresh onion and cilantro topped with crispy tortilla strips, served in a bread bowl. I really enjoyed this soup, which was a little creamy and a little spicy and very flavorful. I do wish they'd give the option of ordering soup without the bread bowl because as much as I love their sourdough bread bowls, I don't always want one. I also tried the holiday sandwich - black forest ham, whole-grain mustard spread, cranberry mayo and arugula on a stuffing roll. The sandwich was tasty, though messy, and a bit heavy on the sauce. Last week I tried another seasonal offering, this one from Pacific Wharf Cafe: the Chicken Tortilla Soup! ✨✨✨ For $11.99 this soup comes with grilled corn, fresh onion, and cilantro topped with crispy tortilla strips and is served in a bread bowl. With this chilly winter weather nothing is better than a warm bowl of soup and this one was fantastic. Thick and creamy with the tortillas adding a great crunch to most bites, I’m actually surprised I haven’t seen/heard about this great soup before!
