But there is still more to do… Did you know Sweden is likely to eliminate cervical cancer before 2030, with Australia not far behind them? NHS England has pledged to eliminate cervical cancer by 2040, but #joscervicalcancertrust want to reach this target even sooner, and make sure there is the support and resources to make this happen. HPV vaccinations, cervical screening, and treatment for cell changes can all help prevent cervical cancer, and we want to programmes to be as effective and accessible as possible. One Ellesmere Port Primary Care Network (PCN) are running a central vaccination site to deliver this year’s FREE NHS SEASONAL FLU VACCINATIONS for all who are registered at one of the PCNs member practices; @greatsuttonmedicalcentre @hopefarmmc @yorkroadgrouppractice @whitbyhealthpartnership | Old Hall Surgery | Westminster Surgery. The central vaccination site is located at Ellesmere Port Sports Village (EPSV): Ellesmere Port Sports Village Stanney Lane Ellesmere Port CH65 9LB The programme with be delivered in phases, so that protect the most vulnerable first. Initially, all those: • aged 65 years and over • and those aged 18 – 64 years and in a clinical risk group …will receive a text message or letter inviting them to book an appointment for their vaccine. To book an appointment for the vaccine either, access the NHS App and follow the instructions or contact your registered GP practice, who will be happy to help. PLEASE NOTE: This site will NOT accept walk-ins; an appointment is essential. Further information will follow this post for those who are housebound and those who reside in a care home. Those aged 50 - 64 years old who are healthy and do not fall into a clinical risk category will be invited to book an appointment for their FREE NHS seasonal flu vaccination in due course.
