2024 MURPH CHALLENGE!!! Are you ready? Join us for our annual Memorial Day workout with motivation from our very own drill sergeant Dana Staton! Dana will be teaching a special Monday Boot Camp that will be the Murph Challenge at 6:00pm on May 27th. The workout will be held outside on our tennis courts and Murray Hill or treadmills inside the gym for the 1 mile run! Dana will have modifications for every move so you can accomplish this brutal, but very rewarding workout! Every participant who completes the challenge will win a raffle ticket for entry for a $50 gym credits. If you bring a friend, you will also get an extra raffle ticket! May Charity Check-In! This months charity is Team Gleason! Team Gleason is a local non-profile charity founded by former New Orleans Saints player Steve Gleason. In January, 2011 Steve was diagnosed with ALS, considered a terminal neuromuscular disease. Beyond his faith that there is a solution to heal, it is his mission to show that patients can not only live but thrive after this diagnosis. In doing so, he hoped to inspire others to do the same. With that in mind, Steve and his wife, Michel, formed “Team Gleason” to help him accomplish those goals and more. It is Team Gleason's goal and mission to improve life for people living with ALS and those who care for them by delivering innovative technology and equipment, as well as providing and empowering an improved life experience. Team Gleason envisions a world where people living with ALS have the resources and the opportunities to not only continue living, but continue living productive, purposeful, and meaningful lives. November Charity Check-In! This months charity is Two Blue Butterflies! Their story "Two Blue Butterflies was founded in memory of our twin boys, Noah and Blake. After trying for many years to give our oldest son, Hudson, a sibling we were thrilled when we found out in June of 2021 that we were expecting identical twins. Early on we experienced complications which lead to many late night ER trips and emergency doctor visits. These complications are what ultimately lead to Noah’s sac rupturing at just 15 weeks. He held on for 3.5 weeks until his heart couldn’t beat any longer. On September 8th, 2021 at 18.5 weeks Noah was delivered and welcomed to heaven. Blake continued to fight and held on until an infection induced labor at 24 weeks. After an emergency c-section, our journey in the NICU began. We spent 21 days in the NICU until Blake’s lungs were just too sick. On November 6th, 2021 Blake joined his brother Noah in heaven. We were touched by the generosity of others through the most challenging time of our lives and believe one of the best ways to honor our boys is to pay it forward.
