It might not look as good as it once did but it’s going to be great when I’m finished with it 🤩💪🏼 With some help from friends and family I am sure we will be able to compete at the top level in the Albin Express One Design Class when she’s done ☑️ My goal is as it was when I bought this one on my own, to win the Swedish Championship in the future. So old friends and followers and new friends and followers let’s see what happens in the future 😜 I will do a deck hardware remake once again but maybe not as crazy as when we overhauled our old SWE39. Hopefully we can get some old sponsors onboard with us again, reaching out to @selden_mast I did start talking to @happyyachting earlier and also my friends at @sailracingofficial and @liros_skandinavia @lirosropes 🤙🏼 I do hope that we can continue on this project. When the bottom paint is gone I will do the bottom of the keel and start putting on epoxy in all crevices and then the sanding of it will start. I do believe the keel profile should be fine and also the rudder. This boat used to be pretty good in the old days so 💪🏼 Well today we sanded a lot before dad came up with the idea of putting on paint remover instead so that’s on for tomorrow and I’m going to see it most of it comes off easy with high pressure washer. 🇨🇺 We had a wonderful time in Cuba, swipe to our impressions and it is definitely not complete! ╸Been to Havana a number of times and walked through neighborhoods and talked to many people. ╸Havana, with its lively atmosphere and rich history, offers a unique and inspiring experience. Its vibrant streets and colorful architecture reflect the resilience and creativity of its people. 💔 But... the country is in deep crisis. We are deeply impressed. There are no cruisers here at all, almost no sailors. People are very sweet, but are really having a hard time. No fresh products available, no toilet paper, empty shelves in stores. It feels sad and heavy, we really feel sorry for these lovely people... ╸Our photos and videos are impressions that we have come across. They are lively, the little bit of tourism that there is still makes people here very happy. And they make money from us, because you spend money. But the most important thing people here miss is their freedom. Something so important that we are now so aware of, that we can always stand up and go wherever we want... ❤️ Cuba has stolen our hearts, the people are gorgeous! Cuba made a big impression on us. I caught a small horse mackerel and made nigiri sushi. Horse mackerel sushi is usually topped with ginger and green onions, but recently it has become mainstream to add a little secret ingredient. 💙 From the Pacific to the Caribbean! Watch what we've done in the past 5 months. ⛵ We left Baja California, Mexico in December '23 and now we are in the Caribbean - Cayman Islands, april '24! 🌴We had a fantastic time on Grand Cayman. The people at customs and immigration were very nice and welcoming. Clearing customs didn't cost anything! That is really an exception, if you see where we come from, the Pacific. 🤿 Beautiful clear blue water, wonderful fish when snorkeling. Chickens and roosters roam everywhere on the island, so nice. 🧡 We are moored at a free orange buoy, there are many around Grand Cayman. It rolls a bit, because you're on the open sea, but that doesn't take away from the fun. Swipe ☜ what we have done in recent months. Any idea how many nautical miles that is? 📷📷📷📷 • 1) Grand Cayman - Pitou by sunset • 2) our route since we left Mexico - Pacific, December '23 • 3) our full route since our departure from The Netherlands - Amsterdam, August 2018 • 4) arrival from Panama at Grand Cayman - North Terminal, where we clear customs. • 5) beautifully clear blue waters, great fishes - Grand Cayman • 6) we received a beautiful watercolor (Pitou in Alaska 🏔️) from our sailing friends @sailpanache Annet & Jacques! And it turned out very well, under roly sea conditions! Thank you sooo much for this beautiful gift Annet, very beautifully painted! • 7) our spot on the buoy at Georgetown - Grand Cayman • 8) a lot of chickens everywhere here on Grand Cayman! Also in the launderette 🤣 • 9) take a break after a walk in the National Park • 10) cooling off after the long walk in the National Park here in Grand Cayman. With @sailpanache @alekssandra_hanca .
