💕 Mother’s Day Read 💕 I started reading this book yesterday afternoon after seeing someone recommend it. I can’t remember who it was but thank you whoever you were. This story was incredible. I just finished it because I couldn’t put it down. It was such a beautiful story. I laughed and cried at the amazing characters. I’ve called it a Mother’s Day read because of 2 of the tropes - surprise/secret baby and found family. This book was worth more than 5 stars and I’ve found another author to stalk/love. Trigger warning What does 5 years worth of missing you look like. I feel as though I’m not crazy grieving mom, but I’m definitely altered. Still have days that my heart is so heavy and trying to figure out why your not going to be home for dinner your not at the next family get together your not going to be in the next family picture. Those are hard days. There are other days that I can feel your presence with me and I see the signs that your not as far away as my mind says you are. It is definitely hard to concentrate still and frustrating that I’m not capable of doing everything I used to do, but burning dinner has lessened. My mind is still searching for you in everything I do. The last couple weeks have been rough I still try and stop you from traveling to the next realm before me. Knowing there’s nothing I can do to change that day is absolutely heart wrenching. On this day I replay every moment of 5 years ago and it’s hard to believe that I’m still here. And I know I wouldn’t have made it without family friends neighbors even strangers that have helped me along trying to navigate life without you. My beautiful, beautiful boy took his last earthly breath at 11:01pm, Friday night, April 26th in his own bed at home, with our Nikko kitty, surrounded by family. He fought long and hard, nearly 2 years, for as long as he could. All of our hearts are broken into a million pieces, especially with the thought that we wont see his beautiful smiling face every morning. We know he is now pain free. He is loved by so many. I’m not sure what we are supposed to do without our amazing son Garrett, who is also the best brother, cousin, nephew and friend, not here with us anymore. It would give some comfort if you left comments of what Garrett means to you. If you didn’t know him personally, but was following his journey, then knowing who the essence of Garrett meant to you. He was truly grateful and thankful to each and every one of you following him, loving him, supporting him and praying for him. We are quickly arranging a celebration of life for Garrett here in Orlando and one in Seattle. If you can please join us Wednesday May 1st, at the East Residence, it’s an open house, from noon to 9pm. Most of the funds from Garrett’s GoFundMe account has gone to help pay for his care and extended needs.
