KIITOS HELSINKI!!! The place where the light just hits differently. It's a bit indescribable to be that far from home in a room with local friends and meeting new people who are aware of what you are doing. Finland is truly vast and many people had travelled more than 100km to get to Helsinki. We've been really proud to play a part in Daisy's vision for the @helsinkipsychfest . Someone who mirrors the attitudes of our heroes like @deliaphoniccoventry by promoting and supporting the young bands in her community and pairing them with established mentors. It was astounding to see the hard work she puts into her shows, and the synergy between her the artists and the great staff at @playhouse_bar . I really can't wait to see this festival grow in the way she really deserves, and to see bands under her wing develop. Honestly, it was such a dream, magical experience. both the audience and we suddenly felt we were covering new ground. When you hit that point, you finally surpass the "oh shall we throw more familiar sounds in?" We are on a journey. An adventure where we are happily wandering. Come, wonder with us. Last night we had the great privilege of a seeing @airfrenchband perform live again. A group I've cherished for nearly my whole life, and wow, what a deeply moving experience. Performing Moon Safari in full, and then a second very unbounded set. These songs take on a whole new dimension performed live - reverberating through the @londoncoliseum . The arrangements for MS were tasteful grooving minimal renditions leaving ample space for @jbdunckel 's enchanting Rhodes and @nicolasgodinmusic 's filthy compressed bass. I am still processing the sheer wonder of it all, so will leave you with a few of hundreds of photos & videos. Truly one of the most inspiring and beautiful experiences I've ever had. Spaceship AIR is a completely unique set to behold. A clearly gifted crew supports the multi-instrumentalist trio on a seamless ride that bends far beyond a typical show. Louis @delormoo is such a tasteful drummer, stylish, modest and fits the group perfectly. What a sea of vocoded magic! Only a French band could be cool enough to perform on this spaceship and still appear suave and understated. Tuesday night was a REAL electric ride. Playing on a theatre stage, with theatre sound, and lights just feels RIGHT. There's no greater privilege than opening proceedings at any event. Getting those infectious smiles and the occasional whoop at the start of the set caught up into a whirlwind that ends with a united flow of bodies all on the same page and there for FUN! Opening up for @hooverphonicoff was a MAGICAL fit! Alex and Raymond schooled us on just how important it is to bring fresh sounds and approaches to live arrangements that are different from the record. Live sample replacement with a String Quartet, Rhodes, and rich COWBOY guitar. Oh yeahhhh, baby! @geike_official is one of the most astounding voices we've had the pleasure of hearing live. 1 hour 45 minutes of flawless, haunting melodies. Serious stamina. Harmonising with strings and TELLING THE Story with each and every number. About 5 costume changes?! It is an exceptionally rare practiced gift when a singer is just as compelling in the pin-drop solos as when leading a group of 10. VERY inspirational. Humble by comparison (!) we appeared as a duo for the first time since last summer with myself on vocals, moves and ROBOT, and Alfie on MS20, 12 String guitar and sampler. We brought to life 8 songs, 5 or which we'd never played out before including Chés acid-drenched take on Dutch favourite Love Buzz, and our electro-pop rework of Season Of The Witch. Huge thanks to Ed and all the Academy staff, and to Danny, for making this night such a success. A LOT of very smiley happy people! Next on the cards, we have full band shows in Margate on April 19th at Justine's with the beautiful Anto Dust, Helsinki Psych Fest, The Great Escape on 18th May AND our London Headline performance at 100 Club on May 25th. In the meantime, we'll be tracking additional parts for a REALLY hypnotic Triphop number were working on called "Lullaby In Limbo." Ended 2023 on a high debuting Looking Glass Alice at @the.poetry.club.glasgow for Brother Joseph and David Keenan's Manifesto Of Bliss. @brother.joseph_sonictreasure has been championing us right from the start, playing us on his radio shows and introducing our music to the likes of @davidholmes_1969 and @2020sonicboom2020 . Backed with a stunning visual reel from @stevengribbin , we stormed through a blinding two sets. The first, a garage punk onslaught, followed by the main event - euphoric, electronic, psychedelic. In between our sets, Glasgow gutter punk heroes @thebuckyrage got the place jumping, while after the bands we danced late into the night with a sonic landscape from DJs Death Wish & Blood Stain. Stepping onto the stage in a new city sometimes feels like diving into uncharted waters, but the warmth that embraced us from the moment we arrived made it feel like coming home. Last Friday we graced the stage at @thelexingtonlondon in a spellbinding triple bill for @whiteheatclub We joined @cosmicstrip and @antodustband for a night of psychedelia and sparkle to a crowd full of absolute joy ✨ Working with a great engineer, @pagetmoon in a venue that's really close to our hearts, not just sentimentally but for the reason of great sound, allowed us to really transmute our message in a hypnotic, pulsating style. This has left us feeling inspired and helped us really recognise the importance of a good sound system, and good technicians when you come see us play. Us, @carsmeller and @antodust have lots on the horizon next year. It's refreshing to be pushing shows more about unity than competition. We are still in a state of euphoria after last weekend. Performing at @nightgardenfestival in the wild woods on the edge of Manchester was out of this world. It was an exciting step up for us - a high energy, acid tinged electronic set as a duo. Having DJed for @manchesterpsychfest last year, we had a real vision for what might really click for our performance. We tried something altogether new, and sequenced a new duo set, using MPC1000, 303 and MS20. Working so closely with samples we’ve recorded and produced and manipulating sequences on the synths we originally used for our recordings gave a sonic glimpse much closer to our initial shared vision for the project than ever before. We were welcomed with open arms in to this benevolent community that @bryonysimcox & @rosietee have built around them. They gave us a phenomenal platform to try something bold in a 9PM festival slot. As just the two of us, it really brought us together to pick a set from the longgggg list of tracks we’ve recorded but not necessarily rehearsed with a full band, and try something really brand new. Even at 4 days notice, Rosie and Bryony gave us their blessing to take this risk and it really paid off for us. We had a call with @che.guevarism who’s joining us on drums and ethics going forward. He called it combining the two summers of love. That’s the celestial focus we have always needed. Our hearts are full after forging so many beautiful connections, and we can't wait to collaborate further. It was a privilege to be paired with the enormously talented Deb @visual.honey as our visual artist, projecting an ethereal live liquid light show on to us as we played. @un.procedure_band were an absolute joy to watch and listen to. Such gifted musicians. Live visuals from @guri_bosh were the perfect mesmerising accompaniment. @mattersband - go check em out We are so excited to work on some cuts together in the future.
