Weโve been out about a bit today to try and blow the cobwebs off. The house feels so empty and we just needed to get out so we decided to go to Flashieโs favourite place to honour his memory. It was tough, we laughed, we cried, we reminisced about Flashies joy at the beach but we did manage to have a lovely day even with the big black hole in our family, and it was much needed for all of us. Our grief is a bit different this time, the shock on top is something that we didnโt experience when Murphy crossed over the rainbow bridge. Flashieโs sudden illness and passing has really knocked us for six. We really thought we had longer ๐ We have a holiday booked here in a couple of weeks which we only booked a few weeks ago. It will be bittersweet without our baby boy as it was mainly booked it for him, because of his huge love for the beach, but we all need it and we know heโd want us to go. Thank you for all the beautiful comments and messages weโve received for Flashieโs passing. Although we havenโt quite found the words to respond, we have read every single one and we are so grateful for this supportive community. Yesterday we said goodbye to our beautiful sweet Flashie. We were by his side, stroking his soft head and telling him how much we love him as he went peacefully over the rainbow bridge. He had been unwell over the past week and ended up having a CT scan which showed a number of cancerous masses. The worst being a large tumour on one of his kidneys which had ruptured and was making him feel incredibly poorly, in pain, and almost certainly the cause of him not eating. We had no choice but to offer Flashie one last kindness as much as it has broke our hearts. Flashie, our beautiful boy, you deserved the world and more. And above all, you deserved so many more years in the good life. We hope we made your last year and nine months as special for you as you made it for us. Our family is feels incomplete without you. Outside bed naps for the win ๐ค Iโve not been feeling very well this week, Iโve been out of sorts and off my food (completely unheard of for me as Iโm a big foodie). My hoomans have tried a few things but Iโm still not really feeling it, so itโs looking like a vet trip for me as they are worried ๐ฆ Iโve really enjoyed my outside snoozes today though so itโs not all bad. Happy Saturday ๐ค Edit from hoomum: Flashieโs blood test results came back all clear, in fact, they were really good for an older chap. The vet has prescribed antibiotics in case he has a hidden infection, so we shall see! Me ha visto los ojitos mucho mejor, el que tenรญa blanco ha recuperado algo de color porque me ha bajado la inflamaciรณn. Pero me ha mandado seguir con las gotas como hasta ahora, dentro de 15 dรญas bajar la frecuencia de รฉstas cada 12h, y dentro de 3 semanas revisiรณn de nuevo. Al menos estoy respondiendo al tratatiempo, aunque ya nos dijeron que era muy probable que tenga que usar las gotas a diario ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ. Panicked mum and dad last night. Trip to emergency vets because I couldn't use my back leg and it swelled up loads. . After tests to rule out bone cancer, I've got lots of medication and been sent home. The methadone was good ๐.
