There really is so much to do in San Francisco. Pier 39 is a vibrant hive of activity, shops cafes and view to Alcatraz. The style of shops is like a little village, I loved the bakery and the Christmas shop. Also they have a fabulous store full of sporting clothes. Great for the family gift. All College and pro teams! After New York we took a quick trip to Niagara Falls. We stayed on the Canadian side . I think it’s the best for a view of the falls. We have been before and it truely is beautiful. We hope to go back in summer time so we can go on the boat , it doesn’t run in winter. What a fabulous night celebrating the life members at the crows season launch. It means so much to Phil ,to say he loves football and the Adelaide football club is an understatement! New Orleans finished on a high, the louisanna marathon in Baton Rouge, catching up with friends and enjoying the sights and food of course. Anne won the quarter marathon womens and finished 4 overall. Chichen Itzá in Mexico was an amazing structure to see. There is also many surrounding buildings. It took us 2 1/2 hours to drive there from play adel Carmen. All recommendations on li e said to go early , so we did. We drove ourselves in a hire car, When we arrived there were hundreds and hundreds of people there already. But as we left there were easily a couple of thousand. You don’t have to pre book tickets but be prepared to line up. Many people opt for a local guide who get the tickets and you miss the queue. Bus loads are arriving from the hotels. The good thing is people step back and take turns so every one gets a nice photo. Fabulous Las Vegas was our last stop on mainland USA before heading to Hawaii. And it’s awesome and always so much fun. We hired a car in Las Vegas and drove to Hoover Dam, We went through Joshua Tree national park. At the dam we did the guided tour, it was great. We went down into the wall and saw all the workings. My Memories on a Monday are from Paris , I came across all my photos yesterday. And there is a lot of them.. way too many. The Palais Garnier was was favourite place in Paris. This Opera house is just spectacular, and the inspiration for the Phantom of the Opera. The main entry with ornate carved staircases going up down and sideways. The main auditorium is stunning with a gigantic chandelier that did in fact fall many years ago. As written in the opera it inspired. Feels a little like this today. This is just the cutest little village, it’s called Pescocostanzo in Italy. It’s a few hours inland from Rome. We did an Italian road trip in a little Fiat, from Venice to Rome and saw some gorgeous little villages. I loved this one so we went back a few times, it reminded me of a Christmas movie set. We were staying in a village not far from this one called Roccacinquemiglia! Yep still can’t say it properly. We stayed in the holiday house of a friend, lucky he can speak Italian because in these small village not many people speak English. Michaelangelo took us to many little villages, and local restaurants it sure was fun . Dreamworld on the Gold Coast was a super funday. We took Nate for his birthday and he proudly wore his birthday badge all day. We went on every ride. Ok I didn’t go on all of them but between us we did. We all really enjoyed it. The voyager ride with sweeping views of all the iconic Australian places was awesome as we flew through the air gliding over the sweeping landscapes. The staff were wonderful and made a fuss of Nate and his birthday. The ice cream shop was super cute and the fudge store even better. We ending in the huge lego store attached to the Park. This flashback was 5 years ago almost to the day. Thanks to FB for reminding me what a beautiful vibrant place Old San Juan is in Puerto Rico . I really did love it there, it was our gateway to the the Caribbean. The food was magnificent too. We went on a river cruise to see the crocodiles in the wild. And wow there was so so many! And very big ones. It was beautiful going up the river, I sure would not want to fall in. I took way too many photos of crocodiles that I will probably never use. On the way back the staff also fed the bird. Like Eagles I think the said they were kite raptors and whip raptors? Don’t quote me on that. Clever as the swooped down and grabbed the meat. It was a great trip. Litchfield National Park in the Northern Territory has these huge termite mounds everywhere. We were on the way to Florence Falls, to see the waterfall and swim at the bottom of the falls. It sure was lovely and cool. The spring temperature was 33c and the weather said feels like 38c and it sure did! We then drove only about 5 minutes to Buley Rockhole, the water cascades over rocks into several swimming holes, beautiful cool fresh water. And no crocodiles out here luckily. Another Friday rolls around, and I am full of flashbacks memories. Rome and Italy was one of those trips that truely was magnificent. Well…this flashback Friday I was thinking about that time we were in New York with Matthew. Here we are Top of the Rock! I think the view from the top of the Rockefeller Centre building is better than the Empire State Building . The main reason is you get the view with the Empire State Building in it. We also went skating at the ice rink at the Rockefeller centre. We paid extra for this cute igloo experience at the rink you can go in and out of the glass igloo and get delicious hot chocolate and can sit for a minute if like us,you are not super great at it skating. It was different having only one of our children with us. He joined us for part of this trip then he went off on his own, to see some friends in Wisconsin. Hopefully we will be back there sooner rather than later. Watching the surfers at Burleigh Heads. It’s a favourite spot of ours, we walked the track around the headland to Tallebudgera Creek then headed off for a burger and ice cream, doesn’t get much better than that. We had a three day lockdown during our holiday but it wasn’t too bad.
