Why, yes, that is a 2nd custom @mezcalveras snowboard built by @gilsonsnow. This one is done up in the Reposado label, and it's Gilson's all-mountain, hybrid-camber board. Loved riding this! Very "surfy" in just a little bit of powder or soft snow. Not as responsive as the other Gilson board, the freestyle, but faster down the hill. In both cases, I got a TON of compliments on the sick graphics. Joseph and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary on 2/22/24. We never had a honeymoon, so we decided to try to finally go somewhere and do a little something as a late honeymoon/anniversary trip. . He and I went to Anchorage to spend a few days snowboarding together. Alaska because it's an adventure, and neither of us have been there before. (I'll most likely be making another post later since 10 photos isn't enough to share) . Day one we spent snowboarding a couple Anchorage and Palmer ski areas. We were planning to do all 4, but only ended up doing 2 because one was inaccessible, and I accidentally mixed up the order of the last two and the night skiing wasn't available. . We spent the last two days at Alyeska Resort. The place is beautiful and fun, but sadly, even after near record-breaking snow amounts this season, it rained the entire time we were there. Was a bummer for sure being soaked through almost the entire time. But we did some good coverage, night riding, and the fanciest dinner we've ever had at the top of the tram. . I am beyond grateful for the last few years I've spent with my husband. He's an amazing and hilarious man, understanding, patient, and strong. Can't wait for the rest of it. . After spending the weekend at Vail, we took it easy on Monday & spent the day sightseeing & exploring along the nearly 4 hour drive out to Crested Butte. Tuesday morning, we woke up refreshed & ready to hit the slopes hard! Personally, Crested Butte was my favorite mountain of the trip. CB had, by far, the best views from the summit. It's a big enough resort to hold up to Colorado standards, yet small enough to maintain those local mountain vibes. There was waaaaay less of a crowd & the mountain was way easier to navigate. Food and drinks were cheap, the town was absolutely amazing, and the people we met along the way were even better. First post of 2024! (it took me long enough) As some of you may know, my birthday is in early December, & Steve & I love to travel on our birthdays. For my 31st birthday, @stevenotte treated me to a dream snowboarding adventure in Colorado! We spent 7 days in our favorite state, 5 days on the slopes, & visited 4 iconic Colorado resorts. Just before Thanksgiving break, 24 students from two classes – Economics of Social Innovation and International Economics – made the trek to Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania to visit the new Gilson Snow factory with CEO Nick Gilson ‘07. During the visit, Nick explained the origins of the company as a snowboard and ski producer, hand crafted in their factory. In the last year, Gilson Snow has literally had to rise from the ashes following a tragic fire that destroyed their previous facility nearly a year ago. Nick and his team found the resilience and determination to rebuild stronger than ever. Following an extensive tour of the new facility, Nick proposed a challenge: How can MB students help tell the Gilson Snow story through social media? In the next month, students will be hard at work developing potential content. Holy smokes is this a big one for me.... my first ever snowboard release 😬 When I was in eighth grade, I discovered the trade of Graphic Design while trying to figure out how I could make it drawing skateboard graphics. Even though the skateboard side of things is in the past, this release feels like a full-circle moment.
