He doesn't mean to scare you, though, and will remove it if you ask! From there we showcase the middle child, Sister Bethany. Just opened in Disney Springs, @gideonsbakehouse is a must try. The cookies are 1/2 lb each and are very shareable. Each cookie is like a small cake, rich and delicious. The February special-The Eternal Flame was a delectable treat. The spicy cayenne pepper snuck up on me and truly brought out the rich dark chocolate. Make sure to put this bake shop on your Disney Bucket list! From their website: “In his never-ending search for baking inspiration, Steve Lewis, the bakery creator, purchased what he thought was an antique cookbook published in 1898. To his surprise, the margins were filled with faded notes and doodles from what appeared to be a young boy who had dreams of becoming a baker. We made it inside to @gideonsbakehouse on opening day at @disneysprings and I’m freaking out a little bit! They offered a virtual queue earlier and had 11 hour wait times from opening this morning, but we were able to slip in right before closing tonight without a wait! I’ll post a lot more later, but here are the basics you should know... They are a local Central Florida bake shop at @eastendmkt started by one person with $800. Became locally famous for making 1/2 lb cookies! Another local restaurant @theravenouspig opened @thepolitepig at Disney Springs and started selling Gideon’s cookies. Those cookies became the most popular cookie on Disney property and sold out like every day. Now Gideon’s has their own bakeshop at Disney Springs with an 11 hour virtual queue line on opening day... longer than any theme park line, and it’s for a cookie lol! And if you’re thinking, there’s no cookie worthy of a wait like that - remember, it’s a virtual queue line so people could come back when it was their turn, so they weren’t standing in line for 11 hours. And yes, that cookie was worth it!!! 🤣 But, we’ve decided, their cake is even better (more on that later)! Plus, the cold brew made with locally roasted coffee is one of the best things I’ve ever had - I had the ginger snap, but I heard the peanut butter version is magical! They have some standard flavors like chocolate chip, peanut butter crisp, walnut, pistachio, cookies and cream, and they also offer a rotating special. When I went it was coffee cake. The peanut butter crisp is the best peanut butter cookie I have ever had.
