Climate change is affecting all aspects of our lives, and that includes our wildlife. About 11 thousand animal species become victims of this environmental disaster. The migration patterns and breeding cycles of these populations are affected by shifts in precipitation levels and temperature changes, resulting in a negative impact on biodiversity. Deforestation and pollution further increase these issues, making the effects of climate change on wildlife worse. We need to intervene as soon as possible in order to stop this process. Dried up Lakes The first picture is the Ruzsa lake. Ruzsa is located on the Sand Ridge between the Danube and the Tisza, which is the driest area in the country. It is often referred to as the Hungarian desert because it has been struggling with water shortages for decades. This year's drought only worsens the situation. The second is the Mórahalm buffalo reserve is also on the edge of dry out. The saline lake of the landscape protection area began to dry up in the 1980s, and the reeds became over grown. Dag två i Aviles har bjudit på många intressanta upplevelser. Dagen började med ett välkomnande till skolan och staden i skolans gymnastiksal, följt av en rundvandring i skolan. Därefter fick vi en guidad tur genom staden i smågrupper och ett officiellt välkomnande av stadens borgmästare i Aviles rådhus. På eftermiddagen blev det sport för hela slanten. Eleverna fick spela fotboll, basket och olika racketsporter. Men, dagens höjdpunkt var nog surflektionen nere vid stranden. Vi väntade alla på den perfekta vågen att surfa på, och när den väl kom så kämpade vi med alla våra krafter för att komma upp på brädorna och hålla balansen. #denperfektavågen #erasmusplus #Avilés #bettertogether #fundedbyEU
I februari hade Oxhamns skola besök av elever och lärare från en spansk skola i Asturien genom det Erasmusprojekt som skolan deltar i. Idag började vår resa för att göra motsvarande besök hos dem. 18 elever och tre lärare trotsade snöyran och satte sig på tåget på morgonen, och sent på natten anlände vi till sist i Aviles. On the 21st of March We have started the day with chemistry experiments. The check the authenticity of liquids such as water, wine, mixed waters with various ingredients With the leading of the department's head, the students in the chemistry field showed and taught us the process of confirmation and quality control. Also we learned how to purify and heal the polluted waters and lowered quality wines. All the students collaborated and concluded the experiments together. Since the students participated in the project were all electrician and automation students, The chemistry department was a whole new world to them. Last week, we traveled to Athens for three days of challenging co-creation workshops focused on cultural diversity. As foreign choreographers from Germany, we dived into research, improvisation and creation processes and concluded with a small performance with the participants at Academia Platonos, in Athens. Many questions popped up in our heads before we left: How will we deal with language difficulties? How can we take care of people by dancing with them? Stepping out of our comfort zone is where the magic happens! We are more than thankful and looking back with appreciation to this experience of exchange, the artistic work with the participants and our shared engagement in insightful reflections on culturally sensitive dance education. Exciting news from Seneca Intensiv! As a partner institution in the SINIPARKSI project, we organized the kick-off workshop in February with four choreographers from Greece, Croatia, France and Germany. The workshop fostered rich exchanges on different dance pedagogical practices and laid the groundwork for our collaborative journey ahead. Key discussions revolved around structuring the training kit. During the following challenges of practice in Greece, Croatia, and France, we will research on culturally sensitive dance education. At the end of the project, a training kit will be presented as a tool for dance pedagogical professionalization. The workshop also outlined roles and responsibilities for upcoming challenges across Athens, Karlovac, Crete, and Briançon. The European exchange project SINIPARKSI aims to make contemporary dance accessible to as many people as possible while consciously embracing the cultural diversity of people living in Europe. To realize this aspiration in dance projects, there is a need for further training opportunities for choreographers and dance teachers on how to deal with human and social variety in dance. Through the collaboration of four European dance institutes, a support program will be developed and made publicly accessible. Four European dance companies and dance school from France, Greece, Germany and Croatia will exchange ideas about the potential, practices, and challenges of cultural diversity in dance projects. The choreographers consciously challenge their artistic and pedagogical practice in cultural contexts other than the ones they are familiar with, by co-creating with different kinds of local communities in Europe, including people with or without dance experience. This way, the choreographers exchange and further develop their own practice. The knowledge gained will be shared with other choreographers in Europe in the form of a „training kit“, a written pedagogical guide enriched with a video tutorial. Siniparksi project aims to promote the development and dissemination of community artistic projects that respect the cultural rights in Europe. Cultural rights are part of human rights and protect the identity, language and traditions of a cultural community and its expression without discrimination or coercion, supporting cultural participation for all. * Funded by the European Union. 🌟 Exciting Update! 🌟 We're thrilled to share the incredible outcomes of our "Make Gender Equity Reality" Erasmus+ Youth Workers Mobility, held from March 15th to March 23rd, 2024 in St. Peters, St. Maarten! 🌎🤝 Over 9 days, 24+3 dedicated trainers and youth workers came together to dive deep into the vital topic of gender equality. We explored diverse educational approaches and methods, dissecting stereotypes and discrimination to pave the way for positive change. Our journey began with building a supportive and inclusive environment, ensuring everyone felt heard and valued. From there, we delved into the heart of the matter, dissecting participant backgrounds, expectations, and fears while immersing ourselves in the topic. World Water Day celebrates water and raises awareness of the 2.2 billion people living without access to safe water. It is about taking action to tackle the global water crisis.
