SOTD: Amantes by Hemcael 2nd four fragrances named Armis Mundi were opened this spring. If my memory is correct, Glacialis was lactonic, Ōtĭum was honeyed oriental, Deos was masculine, and Amantes was the most feminine juice, I selected it. Because I felt it was based on oriental base, it would not be as feminine as I thought. 👍👍👍 Amantes starts with red berries touch and spices, and middle to drydown is soft woody oriental. Very complex juice though, the smell is not complex, easy wearable Eau de Parfum!! 🩷🖤🩷 Btw, this time logo was laser-cut of stainless steel, and each had a different color. It's completely evolving!! Right off the top, a blast of citruses and gets smoother as it dries down. SOTD Argos Pour Homme. The sun is out so wanted something fresh and crisp. Well this is for sure crisp. With top notes of citrus, gin and pine you get almost slapped with freshness. A nice wake up call. During the next hours the scent will share some florals (violet, lavender and jasmine). Lavender plays the biggest part giving it a slight bit of a barbershop feel. Within the florals the vetiver shines through. Adding a bit of a sharp woody / green punch. These notes give an additional layer to the scent and keep your attention. The base of sage, amber, neroli, white musk and patchouli are there to provide power and give the scent additional allure. Make it more inviting. Although the performance is good I’m not able to pick up on a lot of the warmth or earthy tones of the amber and patchouli. It’s more the neroli, as the scent to me stays very fresh and sharp / green. It’s the same feeling I got from ‘Vetiver Gris’ and ‘homage to Hemingway’. Those two scents I don’t own anymore as I found them to sharp / green (vetiver / citrus), which bored me at the end. I left it for three months on the table, but during that, I had been taking photos. ✨ The leaflet is in the box with the bottle, the story, the process, and the message are written on it. Especially the last two messages were like a love letter or shared a diary of them. Totally you can feel Roberto's personality well. "I would like the smell of a body about to implode!" From where does this phrase come? It's from his memories of when he was a kid. I think it's hard to put into words his memories, but Christopher got it completely, his juice showed me something about making short movie. 🥰 This time, Christopher used something meaningful essence. Cassie is Mimosa Farnesiana, it has a special cuminic facet, used in Le Mimosa (Annick Goutal) and Farnesiana (Caron). Myrrh has fungal facet, and Narcissus has a touch of animalic tone. Cuminic mimosa opens with cucumber-like violet leaves and black currant. The combination of cuminic fruits was reminded of Femme by Rochas (it was cuminic plum). Yes, cumin smells a bit sweaty, and Femme smells very voluptuous. Rauque is based on it, but soon it dives into smoky tar, and finishes (a little bit animalic) honeyed floriental. The rise in popularity of fragrances like L'immensite and Imagination have certainly reignited my love for whispery citrus perfumes and this one is an exceptional example of that kind of perfume.( at a fraction of the cost I may add ) There is something quite comforting about L'Eau , it's refreshing, not overly sweet, and quite grown up.
