The lovely Samphire restaurant, @oroccopier We were originally seated in a booth where we were served our drinks - whisky cocktail 🥃 and orange juice 🥤. Our very efficient waitress (I think her name was Lucy) then offered us the window table when a large party left. We gratefully accepted since we've been several times to Samphire, but never managed to get the table. It's a view and a half (you can see my favourite house standing out in the 4th photo near the rail bridge with the big windows top and bottom. Dream a little dream 🎵🎵! A late lunch of burger and the most deliciously cooked fish of the day. I can honestly say, if I hadn't been in a restaurant, I may have licked the plate. Garlic sauteed new potatoes, pea and basil puree, green beans and confit tomatoes. The latter were lethal! It was like the scene in Pretty Woman. I should never have attempted to cut them. I wore the contents of one on my top and another was like a surface to air missile 😉! Too full for dessert, but managed coffee with a view. Lunch by the Fire - Review @coorie_inn - Invite I recently enjoyed a delightful lunch at the Coorie Inn in Muthill, Perthshire. Sheltering from the cold windy weather and cosying by the fire for an enjoyable lunch. We enjoyed generous portions of delicious food, including mac and cheese topped with pulled pork and truffle and Parmesan chips. Finishing off with pub classic sticky toffee pudding. The Coorie Inn provided tasty food in a cosy, rustic setting. I look forward to coming back at some point in the future to try their dinner menu.

We need a few volunteers to help A Fine Fair run smoothly! 😁 If you’re local or have ties to Erskine Veterans Charity, and have a few hours to spare, we would love to hear from you. 💜 Roles include: - Refreshments stall ☕️🥤 - Fundraising stall (charity merch and raffle) - Possibly wearing the mascot costume 💜 - Car park attendant 🚙 - General helpers Some roles require you being on your feet for a few hours (e.g. car park attendant). No past experience is needed but always helps! As long as you’re happy chatting to our guests and donate a few hours of your time, that’s all we need from you 😊 We will pay travel expenses (fuel, bus fares etc.) and provide a lunch allowance, as well as unlimited drinks and snacks on the day. We are also happy to provide verification of volunteering hours should you need it. A full brief will also be given before the event. Timings are around 09:30-17:00 but this is TBC. {Ad} Cookery workshop with @ghilliebasan What an experience! I first met Ghillie during an event in Inverness and was instantly taken by this amazing woman with incredible talent. When she invited me in to her home to experience one of her workshops I was beyond excited. We started the day with a coffee and catch up but soon got down to work. Ghillie has years of experience with flavours, recipes, methods and cultures. She patiently talked me through every step and why method was important to ensure I got the best flavour from my ingredients and food. By the end of the day we had an incredible mezze feast which we enjoyed eating over a few hours with some delicious wine. You can find the workshops and experiences Ghillie has to offer on her website. These include several different cookery workshops, wilderness retreats and so much more. Ghillie is more than happy to chat through dietary requirements and taste preference to make sure you get the most out of your visit. Impromptu lunch out with my Pa today. Lovely wee potato soup & coronation chicken sandwich. Went back to @thecitybaranddiner. Can’t go wrong! Tea with my pals tonight @wagamama_uk was not so lovely. No photo as it took soooooo long for my ramen to come out as they had clearly forgotten about it. Was so hungry by time it eventually appeared that I just dug in. Worst of all 15 mins later & I was still waiting on my bang bang cauliflower whilst everyone else was finished. They did comp the cauliflower but no excuse for that delay. Baker and UHI North West and Hebrides tutor Paul Mackintosh is working with pupils from @phsskye as they prepare to enter Shortbread Showdown Grand Final @edencourttheatrecinema this weekend. Paul, baker at Mackenzies Bakery in Skye, secured first place at last year’s competition and is hoping that with the support of his pupils, he can retain his crown. The UHI North, West and Hebrides team have created a unique shortbread created with butter smoked from Isle of Raasay Distillery cask shavings! Paul said: “This was a good opportunity to show the students that it's teamwork that makes things happen.
