The Jardín de Plantes in the Latin Quarter of Paris was founded in 1633 as a medicinal garden for the king, Louis 13th. It was opened to the public shortly afterward. We saw some familiar friends like yucca and saw palmetto, these gorgeous black tulips, and a very friendly parrot! 🦜 It felt like the plants were happy for human visitors on a chilly, rainy day. It’s been five years since our last Faery Seership training with Orion Foxwood but we’ve finally made it to the end of the modules. This weekend we immersed ourselves in the Holy Formless Fire. After this step we’ll have one final gathering for our anointing. We began this training in 2010, and would have completed in 2020 had the world not gone pear-shaped. So it’s such a sweet blessing to finally be finishing a program that has been so deeply impactful on my life and teachings. In taking a look at the fairy folklore of the British Isles, as well as the lore of elves in the Germanic regions - the observer will quickly note that both fairies and elves alike have uniquely developed palettes. It is commonly understood within both the Celtic countries and Scandinavia that fairies & elves do, in fact, consume food and drink. Within the folklore, these Otherworldly beings are seen to partake of various types of sustenance; including milk, butter, animal meat, alcohol, and vegetables. However, there is another staple in the diet of many fairies & elves within the folklore: human flesh… and blood. In certain folklore of the Scottish Highlands, folk are cautioned to bring water inside before the household goes to bed for the night. It is believed that, should the fairies enter the home that evening, they will most likely desire to drink or wash in some water. If there is no water to quench their thirst, the fairies will instead suck the blood of the sleeping humans. In the Ballad of Thomas the Rymer, the Queen of Elfland embarks on the journey back to Fairyland with Thomas as her companion. The ballad states that they wade through blood that comes up to the knee, and that all the blood that is shed upon the earth runs through the springs and rivers of Fairyland. Across the Germanic regions, it is understood that a number of the Hidden Folk consume blood and flesh. The elves come in diverse shapes & sizes, though within Scandinavian lore it is often the Hidden Folk of smaller stature that are most known for drinking blood. There are a number of Trolldom remedies for protecting or curing one’s children if they are afflicted by blood-sucking elves. There is a rather humorous remedy for such issues that I shared in my presentation on the elves for @salemwitchfest. From 18th century Sweden, the remedy includes the use of wax poppets - as well as a hammer, that the disgruntled parent uses to beat the poppets in order to fight off the vampiric elves. Hello everyone 😊 I’ve received some new followers lately, and so I thought I’d follow the lead of @sasha.ravitch and share some info about myself & my traditions, what I do, and services I offer. ♥️ 🌹✨ I am first & foremost a fairy seer - I have also referred to myself as a “fairy worker”, because not only do I see Them - I work with the Fair Folk, have been in relationship with Them for many years, and have the capacity to act as an intermediary between fairies & humans. Along those lines, as a spiritual worker I specialize in helping people with fairy, elf, & troll-related troubles. My fairy tradition is a closed one, sorcerous in nature & of Celtic origin. I have over 30 years of experience in magic and Faery. While I must adhere to many secrecy taboos around my fairy lineage, I am able to speak more in depth publicly on other areas of my training, & traditions that I am a part of(such as Trolldom). 🌹✨ It has been my honor to receive training as an apprentice for a number of years under Johannes Gårdbäck, in the Scandinavian system of folk magic & sorcery known as Trolldom. In Scandinavia, the term “troll” (with variations in spelling & pronunciation, depending on language & country) has several connotations. One meaning is essentially akin to “magic” and therefore you will see words such as “trollkvinne” which basically means a sorceress, or a woman who practices Trolldom. My training with Johannes has been invaluable - I treasure the wisdom & methods I have learned from him, and frequently utilize them in my work with clients & students. In fact, I can’t help but see it and sense it everyday. This isn’t a morbid emo thing, it’s a spiritual thing. (It could be my stellium in scorpio 🤔) I notice that our culture is built on avoiding the topic and striving to deter from embracing its wisdom. Yes, death is an emotionally charged experience but it is part of our life experience. Death is not only experienced on a physical level. Death happens whenever we experience change. The moment change arrives, right alongside it is death. What you knew, what you understood up to that moment of change has now died, and no longer exists. If we only opened ourselves to conversations around what death is and how it exists in everyday life we could find freedom from the shackles of fear and build a new vocabulary for our emotional processes through this most potent phase. What once was “Come Full Circle” has come full circle (pun intended) and has rebirthed into “Ixté Owul.” This moment and all the moments leading up to this have been so so potent and special to me. This life is cyclical and my path has proven this to me time and time again. All moments have led to now. Today during meditation I became aware of a ‘flickering’ of light and I realized that this flickering was ME. I consciously flowed from darkness into light first as a particle then as a wave form slipping between the seen and unseen from form to formless and back again. As I became aware of my fluid nature, I slipped into my light body dissolving into another state of being flowing into another dimension. Suddenly I was beneath the Tor in the belly of the earth goddess I saw a being sleeping there within a stone chamber. I was reminded of what slumbers beneath the surface and what is awakening within me within my body and within the land. I opened myself to all of it Rising and falling simultaneously Letting go of my particle state I flowed into myself and disappeared into stillness.
