Novidade clássica na lojinha. Olivetti Lettera 22, ultraportátil revolucionária dos anos 50. Um dos xodós da casa. Máquina que não pode faltar no lar do entusiasta que se preze. Já tive muitas. Certa vez, mais de meia-dúzia ao mesmo tempo. Também já aconteceu de ficar sem nenhuma, todas vendidas quase simultaneamente, e foi bem estranho não ter uma ao alcance. Já tive uma que comemorava aniversário, da mesma origem e cor desta. Uma das poucas com data de nascimento no certificado de garantia. A Lettera 22 foi lançada em 1950. Revolucionária porque seus criadores, os geniais Marcello Nizzoli e Giuseppe Beccio, conseguiram encaixar funções de máquina maior em máquina compacta, de design limpo e elegante. Notadamente menor que outras equipadas com shift de segmento. Acabou premiada vencendo o Compasso D'Oro em 1954 e sendo eleita melhor design de produto dos últimos cem anos pelo Instituto de Tecnologia de Illinois em 1959. Foram duas séries produzidas. A primeira, dos anos 50, apresentava opção de 5 cores e as teclas redondas em formato de pastilha. A segunda série oferecia 3 cores e teclas quadradas. São mais raras e mais desejadas as máquinas da primeira série como esta. Máquina de 1954 da primeira série, fabricada na Itália. Como escrevi aqui semana passada sobre a Lettera 32 italiana disponível no estoque, são mais desejadas estas Olivetti italianas por serem mais raras por aqui onde temos muitas Lettera 32 do México e Lettera 22 do Brasil. Tecnicamente, são todas igualmente ótimas. O verde-pistache desta também difícil de encontrar. Bolsa marrom mais antiga feita, acredito eu,  originalmente para as Antares em Milão. A letra "de livro", Elite Book, miudinha e de traço mais grosso. Bacaníssima. Civil War (2024) When talking about misleading marketing in trailers, this film has got to be near the top of the list. For something called Civil bloody War, I expected to see a certain degree of controversy, divisiveness or at least something thought provoking to make the story meaningful. Instead, it was more of a sleep war because during the entire run-time, I had an endless battle with my yawns which kept attacking me due to endless nothingness that was happening on screen. This wannabe Apocalypse Now story follows a group of journalists who plan on interviewing the president before the capital is taken over by rebels. As they drive through America, they encounter some people shooting each other for unknown reasons. During the quiet moments, they have pointless conversions that fail to add anything to the plot or character development. The only time I cared about what was happening on screen is when Jesse Plemons took the stage for 2 minutes. Besides Stephen Henderson, I couldn't sympathize with any character. Wagner Moura tried to bring some energy but it was absorbed by the black hole of Kirsten Dunst's emotionless resting face. The kid was simply an annoyance because of the stupid and selfish decisions she kept making. Furthermore, all their side quests felt lethargic because Alex Garland wanted to play it safe without having a single meaningful or emotional moment. The entire experience felt like a round of Call of Duty where opposite sides shoot at each other for no meaningful reason. I am not saying that the story had to be completely digested, but they could have explained something about the background behind the conflict and the objective that each aide is trying to achieve. What has the president done that we should hate him? At one point the characters are fighting for a water bottle and in the next scene, the same characters are using internet. Instead of an interesting story, we got a lot of booms and pows that felt hollow despite some good direction. What a waste of time. .

Quando a água baixar Mexendo numa máquina de escrever recém chegada, encontro em meio às ferragens pequeno retângulo de papel rosa fino vagamente familiar. Na frente, impresso: vale uma passagem escolar; no verso, carimbado: junho 1991. Cápsulas do tempo essas máquinas que guardam fragmentos do passado. A gente usava esses bilhetinhos pra pegar ônibus. Depois vieram as fichas de plástico. Moeda informal que pagava o transporte, pão, cigarro avulso e tudo mais que a criativa economia hiperinflacionária brasileira permitisse. Foi nessa época também que ouvi pela primeira vez o termo 'ecologia'. Há mais de trinta anos os primeiros alertas sobre os riscos e efeitos catastróficos da mudança climática. Já nos primeiros relatos das inundações no RS me impressionaram tanto a força do fenômeno quanto a surpresa de alguns. O aumento das precipitações e das enchentes uma das consequências da desgraça que se anuncia desde o início dos anos 90. Tem sido muito difícil acompanhar os acontecimentos. Uma tragédia humana dessa proporção não precisa de experiência pessoal para comover. Qualquer ser humano com uma gota de empatia no sangue compreende, se assombra e se solidariza com o sofrimento alheio. Pra mim tem sido bem difícil ver toda a destruição primeiro na Serra, na regiao do Vale do Rio das Antas, onde moravam eus avós e onde passei boa parte das férias na infância. Depois Porto Alegre alagada, a cidade onde eu pagava ônibus com passagem escolar. Se na capital se repete evento de 1941, na Serra o que houve parece sem precedente. Tenho visto muita gente sensata falando que agora não é o momento de apontar dedo e acho que têm alguma razão. A hora é de resolver ou pelo menos minimizar o estrago imediato. Mas assim que a água baixar chegará a hora dos grandes patrocinadores da tragédia, quem por burrice, soberba ou mau caratismo são responsáveis mais ou menos indiretos pelo deste cataclismo que deixará marcas, traumas e lembranças por muito tempo. “I only gamble with my life, never my money.”-Released 25 years ago today, ‘The Mummy’ is one of my favorite adventure films of all time. I remember being blown away as a 7 year old in 99 seeing it on a big screen, and seeing it again on the big screen two weeks ago I felt like a kid once again. It’s such an entertaining and thrilling film, and I loved that the screening was almost completely sold out for a 25 year old film. I didn’t see the original Indiana Jones trilogy until I was it my teens, so growing up this was my Indy in terms of action adventure film, and it’s one I’ve seen so many times, it’s so rewatchable and holds up better than many other 99 films. Stephen Sommers knew how to balance the campy cheese with thrilling adventure to deliver a classic summer blockbuster that is only made better by the diminishing quality of the two sequels and Cruise’s horrible reboot. Sommers also wrote the script and brings some intriguing twists and turns to a familiar story. The special effects/visual effects while being a product of their time don’t look too cheesy, are often creepy unsettling and hold up pretty well, much better than whatever they did with The Rock in ‘The Mummy Returns’. . . While it’s not an outright horror film like the 1932 original, there’s some solid scary moments, especially when the flesh eating scarabs get inside the bodies of people. It’s a great looking shot but also makes me feel queasy. Brendan Fraser man, kids who didn’t grow up with him don’t know how cool and awesome he was during this phase of his career. He had the perfect charisma for Rick O’Connell, looking believable as a bad ass in the action scenes, while having fantastic screen presence and knowing how to indulge in the campiness with some great slapstick comedy. Rachel Weisz is super charming and delightful as Egyptologist Evelyn, feeling like a throwback to old Hollywood beauty. One of her most underrated trait is her excellent comedic timing, which she gets to display a lot with how much she tends to screw up despite arguably being the smartest person around. . Acontece de me perguntarem se teria alguma Hermes Rocket depois de sugeridas e oferecidas Hermes Baby para quem procura ultraportátil de excelência. Faz-se necessário o devido esclarecimento: trata-se de mesma entidade. Hermes Baby e Hermes Rocket são dois nomes de uma mesma máquina. São incomuns por aqui as marcadas Rocket. Como tudo que é inusitado nesse maravilhoso submundo mecanográfico pós-moderno, as Rocket têm lugar cativo nos corações e mentes dos fetichistas. Temos aqui versão do modelo que mais gosto. Segunda versão do modelo HD-2/54 lançado em 1954, primeiro em cinza chumbo. As principais diferenças desta em relação às anteriores, o cilindro maior com 31,5mm de diâmetro em vez dos 25mm originais, e as teclas quadradas no lugar das teclas redondas clássicas que se vê em muitas máquinas suíças mais antigas. Nesta segunda versão do modelo, a estreia do clássico e hipnotizante verde-menta que caracterizou a marca. Esta é de 1957. Primeira vez que vejo a barra de espaço preta, presente nos modelos anteriores. É provável que tenha sido transplantada, mas não descarto a possibilidade de ter vindo ao mundo assim. Não são raros os casos de máquinas montadas com sobras de estoque de componentes de outros modelos. Pensei em trocá-la pela verde "original", mas depois de reunião acalorada do conselho consultivo, decidimos mantê-la pelo bom argumento de uma simetria interessante entre os pretos horizontais da barra e do cilindro em meio ao verde-menta. Também porque fica diferente e bem bonita. Noutros tempos iria direto pro acervo "permanente". Graças ao inevitável inchaço do acervo, vai pra vitrine à disposição do usuário/colecionador exigente e de extremo bom gosto.
