I couldn't wait to get back to @maize_valley_ for the second Meet in the Meadow of the season after last week's rainout. Armed with a spare battery, (turns out these mirrorless cameras go through juice faster than a big block chugs gas) my goal was to stress less about shooting at specific focal lengths and just focus on becoming more familiar with the new camera/lens. A massive dark cloud covered the farm halfway through the evening, but left just in time for golden hour. Unfortunately most of the cars had already left, but on the bright side, I got my new favorite photo of the local E-Type.

Heute widmen wir uns einem der schönsten Autos, die je gebaut wurden: Dem Jaguar E-Type (1961-1974). Dieser zeichnete sich nicht nur durch sein wunderschönes Design aus, sondern auch durch dessen Leistungswerte. Anfangs wurde ein 3.8L Reihensechszylinder mit 269 PS und 353 Nm verbaut, welcher in 7 Sekunden von null auf einhundert km/h beschleunigt und bis zu 241 km/h Top Speed ermöglicht. Allerdings wurden die Bremsen mit ihrer nachlassenden Bremswirkung (Fading) von der damaligen Fachpresse kritisiert. Ab 1964 verbaute Jaguar dann einen 4.2L Sechszylinder, welcher ebenfalls 269 aber 384 Nm leistete. Später kam auch noch geräumigere Version mit langen Radstand auf den Markt und ab 1971 war der Jag auch mit einem 5.3L V12 mit 276 PS und 412 Nm zu ordern. Leider fiel diese wunderbare britische Design-Ikone mit ihren durstigen Motoren der damaligen Ölkrise zum Opfer und wurde 1974 eingestellt. Als indirekter Nachfolger wurde 1975 dafür allerdings der Jaguar XJS eingeführt. Fun Fact: Heutzutage sind E-Types sehr gesuchte Oldtimer, die besonders als frühe Serien häufig bei sechsstelligen Summen gehandelt werden.
