Dit document geeft inzicht in de huidige situatie en toekomst van de Waterlandse kerkgebouwen. De aanleiding voor het opstellen van deze Kerkenvisie is dat voor steeds meer kerkgebouwen leegstand dreigt, door teruglopend religieus gebruik. Dit betekent dat voor veel kerkgebouwen de toekomst op dit moment onzeker is. De Kerkenvisie zorgt ervoor dat leegstand zoveel mogelijk wordt voorkomen door in een vroeg stadium gezamenlijk te kijken naar alternatieven. In de gemeente Waterland zijn 16 van oorsprong religieuze gebouwen te vinden, waarvan 12 nog steeds in religieus gebruik zijn. De gemeente Waterland is trots op haar religieuze erfgoed en hecht veel belang aan het behoud van deze religieuze gebouwen. Niet voor niets is het overgrote deel van de kerken als monument aangewezen. Daarnaast is de maatschappelijke en sociale functie van de kerkgebouwen en -gemeenschappen van groot belang voor de Waterlandse gemeenschap. De Kerkenvisie geeft waardering per kerkgebouw De Kerkenvisie is een strategische visie voor het totale kerkenbestand van de gemeente. Alle kerken hebben een zogenaamd ‘kerkenpaspoort’ gekregen, de cultuurhistorie van het religieus erfgoed binnen de gemeente is uitgewerkt en er is een waardering per kerkgebouw opgenomen. De uitgebreide inventarisaties en waarderingen zijn de basis geweest voor de kaders die zijn opgesteld voor toekomstige wijzigingen in het gebruik (transformaties) van kerkgebouwen. Er zijn ook aanbevelingen opgenomen voor vervolgstappen als het gaat om de bescherming van kerkgebouwen, opname in (aanverwant) beleid en het opstellen van nadere uitwerkingen. Denk hierbij aan het opnemen van kerkgebouwen binnen het toeristisch potentieel en het gebruik van een kerkgebouw voor maatschappelijke doeleinden (anders dan religieus gebruik). Inukai Tsuyoshi's assassination was a pivotal moment in Japanese history, marking a dark chapter in the nation's political landscape. This tragic event occurred on May 15, 1932, during a period of political turmoil and unrest in Japan. Inukai Tsuyoshi, the Prime Minister at the time, fell victim to a group of young military officers who sought to overthrow the government and establish a military dictatorship. The attempted coup d'état, known as the May 15 Incident, was orchestrated by a faction of ultra-nationalist officers within the Imperial Japanese Army. These officers were disillusioned with the direction of Japanese politics, viewing the civilian government as weak and ineffective in confronting the challenges facing the nation, particularly in the realm of foreign policy. Inukai Tsuyoshi, a prominent political figure known for his nationalist views and advocacy for parliamentary democracy, became a target for the coup plotters due to his perceived opposition to their militaristic ambitions. This coup d’état led to torturing and killing of political rivals (who were or could be communist or simply an opposition), thousands of ‘desaparecidos’ (people who get lost and no one knows where they are - even today) and turning the country from democracy to dictatorship - all with the backing of the USA. Although this part of the history of Chile is quite sad and unfortunate, the @museodelamemoria, where you can explore it, is nicely done. In the past, I visited the museums of the Balcan war in Sarajevo 🇧🇦, of WWII in Berlin 🇩🇪 and the Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington D.C 🇺🇸. Yet the ‘Museo de la Memoria y los Derechos Humanos’ is the best I saw in my life. All the aspects of the regime change and its reality, as well as its ending by referendum, it's nicely explained, with adequate depth and great tools - such as newspapers from the era, TV footage, interviews with actors or simply pictures of what was happening. I was never that sad and enriched at the same time, as when I left the building to a nearby park and thought about what I witnessed. The one thing, which I consider a bottom line from my visit, is the fact that we should (as societies) commemorate and remember our history - especially when it's dark, bleak and uncomfortable. That's, from my point of view, the way to remember and not repeat the same mistakes again.
