There is indeed a rumor that George Lucas is coming back to do some Star Wars project. I think that's completely bogus, and wouldn't be surprised if Disney started the rumor themselves. Lucas is unlikely to come back for any reason. He has no reason to, despite the recent statement of his supporting Bob Iger and his stock ownership. That's different and doesn't mean he's therefore ready to come back. Disney does not like Lucas and his ideas, clearly; it was recently announced they are intentionally moving away from his original intentions with the Force. What does that tell you? We do indeed both agree we don't care if he does come back though. It won't change anything. It won't fix what's broken. It literally does not and will not matter, despite what this YouTuber thinks. At this point, I don't know if there is anything at all Disney can do. The damage is irrevocably done, I think. There are fans never coming back. Incongruous Gears - The shroud of the Dark Side has fallen. Some cynical people will say Lucas fell to the Dark Side long ago, either when he made Episodes I-III, or when he first sold his company. I feel the latter is a fair assessment. But this recent statement from him is just perplexing. He has made no secret he does not like or approve of what Disney has done with Star Wars, but is giving his full support of them now, and for president Bob Iger, who made the deal with Lucas to begin with and under him, Star Wars began to be destroyed. I have seen people debate what the reason might be, from "legacy protection" to stock portfolio protection. But as stated in the above, why he would want stock in this company makes little sense. Lucas is not pressed for cash; he doesn't need money. I suppose the reason doesn't really matter. And as also mentioned, the statement about creating "magic" is what bothers me the most and is a real kick or punch to creative people, which Lucas used to be. I thought he was better than this. How disappointing to see he is not. I also included an example of Disney fan-blaming when one of their movies fails, instead of figuring out WHY it failed. This is Disney now. When they fail, it is not their fault. It's the fans'. Nonsense. Utter nonsense. It is amateurish, or at least, not professional. It's childish. Rant time: After looking at the acolyte trailer, I was a little intrigued, but after looking at the writes and who is involved, my confidence has gone away! I don’t trust Disney for what they did to the Star Wars sequel trilogy and Indiana jones movie!
