Ale open qualifyer for the DGPT Silver series event at Ale white. I should not play when I have been sick 😂. But what to do when a spot at Ale open is the price. Ale white normal layout with tee time 15:36. My brain stopped working somewhere around hole 7 but I had an Ice cream after front 9 😅 which helped motivation. I got first place and a spot and +12 on normal layout is not that bad. My goal was around +7. BRP Ladies Open I love coming to play at Blue Ribbon Pines, and this is the one event I try to go to here each year. It’s always fun to play in an event just for women and girls and I just love playing the course. We played 18 of the 27 holes today and I had a couple pars and averaged about a stroke over par per hole. I also won the juniors division today, although I was just happy to shoot the best I could (only one hole really got me that I’d like a do over on). Maybe I can convince my dad to take me to play here more often now and work on getting closer to pars on more of the holes here!
First competition of the year = Done! To summarize this: First round was one of the best rounds in a long time. My game was stable and I did not do so many mistakes. The second round was not the round I hoped for. The conditions changed a bit compared to the first round. More windy and I also had issues with getting a good grip. I got unsure about my capabilities during the round, and I lost a lot of strokes because of that. I ended up on sixth place of eight. BUT I can learn things from this and do my best to improve going forward. King of the Dot 2 - Waverly Washout Dad asked me earlier in the week if I wanted to play in Iowa, and after watching a YouTube video of the course I thought it looked fun so said sure let’s go! It took a bit to drive down but we got to the course in plenty of time. My first round I was on a card with two brothers playing in juniors divisions, one I played with at another tournament, and one of their adult friends in MA4. I had a pretty good first round playing each hole for the first time and went +8 the first round, but I knew I could do better. After lunch the second round was us three juniors and a FA4 player and we started on the same hole. My goal was to just shoot lower than round 1 and not to take any big numbers. I shot 4 strokes better, had all birdies pars and bogeys (although a couple of those 4s were marked par 4s on the tee signs) and before I knew it we were done and submitting our cards for the event. If it stays when official on Tuesday the second round rating will be my first round ever rated 800+ which would be exciting! I got the win in FJ12 and picked out a pink Getaway with my payout credits before heading back to MN and getting some celebratory ice cream for dinner!

Watertown Spring Open It rained the whole drive to the course this morning, but luckily as check-in opened up the rain started to let up and by tee time it stopped raining. With the conditions my goal was only to do better than I did the one other event I played here early last year. My card was myself and the MJ15 field, and the first throw of the round was a forehand for an ace! So exciting, and the second one I’ve seen on one of my cards. The first two holes tripped me up a bit but my dad said just take it one hole at a time and one shot at a time. He didn’t tell me scores until there were two holes to go and almost got a scramble par out of the woods and then finished with a par on my final hole. With the weather today I used a variety of discs, from my go to Escape off the tee, my Vandal with tailwind tee shots, my Sockibomb Felon when the wind was coming back at me, my Kona Krushers EMac Truth on shorter wooded tee shots, and my EMac Judges for short approaches and putting. I ended up finishing the wet and windy round with a +15 which eliminated about a stroke per hole from my last round here. Other than wet shoes and socks (especially after playing hole 7 where the green was a shallow pond) I was more than happy with the round and got myself another win.

BLUE RIDGE CHAMPIONSHIPS 🌱🦋 What a weekend! Could not ask for a better first A Tier experience. Had the pleasure of playing with a lovely group of women on gorgeous courses, what more could you ask for? Nothing but gratitude for this sport and having the privilege of witnessing the beauty of nature this season 🫶🏻 After doing like 15k steps on Saturday, Jacob and I went to Linville Falls on Saturday right before sunset and it was definitely worth walking just a bit more! Second to last slide is the mantra I used to calm my nerves last week. Not to mention, breathing helps! My putt was ON Saturday and truly I owe it to the breath work I did stepping up to each putt. The last slide though was me @ my putters on Sunday, we’re not talking about it 😂 So thankful for all the knowledge and experience I gained the past few days. @pdga Champions Cup 🔥🏆 presented by @bushnell_disc Aside from the terrible weather on Friday and still recovering from contracting Lyme disease, I really enjoyed my first ever FPO Major!!! It’s exciting being at this transition period in which my game, consistency, & confidence are continually growing. There’s so much to learn & this journey has been quite the experience. I’ve said this in the past, but it’s been a long time: I never ever would have imagined my life looking like this. With all of my stomach/health issues, even the idea of traveling so much sounded just horrible! It’s certainly been a challenge, but I know I’m where I’m supposed to be. It’s been an exciting journey! I was extremely happy with my putting all 3 rounds! This almost never happens! There’s usually at least 1 round in a tournament in which my putting sucks or is just a little off, so to be able to finally pull out 3 good rounds of putting, is very rewarding! 10th annual Chains 4 Vets - FA 2 Champion 🥇 This is my first win since joining @discraftunderground! Playing in the wind was never my strong suit but I was giving myself opportunities to stay in it. 2024 NADGT Exclusive @ Tjader Acres I signed up for this tournament a few days ago since we didn’t have any family plans and there were still spots open. I never played the course and my dad said it looked challenging and I like a good challenge… I played both rounds with all the ladies who were signed up all in their own divisions, so we agreed to encourage each other and all finish today. The first round was tricky since I had only seen the map of the course online so I made some mistakes and took some risky chances that didn’t work out just shooting below my rating. After lunch of a brat, chips, beans, and dessert (all good fuel for round 2) I started out with a par on our first hole and continued improving my scores from the first round. I ended up shooting 11 strokes less for the second round with an unofficial rating over 700! I used my red Escape mainly for tee shots other than if there was wind then switched to the Vandal for tailwinds and the Sockibomb Felon into the wind. My Kona Krushers EMac Truth was flying real straight on approaches, and my EMac Judges were giving me confidence in my putts today. 44 holes after a flex start yesterday has worn me out so I’m off to bed for much needed rest and recovery ❤️🩹

Red Cedar Rumble I played this flex start in Wisconsin this morning, which started first by carpooling with two of my cardmates (@oldladydiscgolf Benita and her husband Michael) and it was windy and right around freezing for the round. Luckily I came prepared with electric hand warmers, throwing glove, my mom’s heated vest, and multiple layers. I stared out with a chance at birdie on hole 1 but was happy with a par to start the round. The middle of the course was in some tall pines and had a lot of elevation change so there were a couple tricky holes to play but I got a birdie on the short downhill hole 6. The back 9 came out of the woods into more open fields so the head winds were more challenging (I did end up with a triple bogey on hole 15 when I got too much hyzer and the wind caught my third shot). I finished well even carding a par on a longer par 4 into the wind on 18 and got an unofficial rating above my current one! Today was a milestone win for me as this is my 50th PDGA victory of my career (my first win was in April 2019 so I’ve been playing tournaments for about 5 years now)… I was able to take my store credit and player pack credit to pick out a @kona_disc Moonshine Trespass. We also split a pizza at a local restaurant before carpooling back to Minnesota.

Quick 9 with my dad after field testing some new discs out. I was able to beat him on hole 2 since he hit all the trees and I had a clean drive… I also got him on hole 6 with a longer drive than his (both were tee shots with my Escape!) He did end up winning the round but I kept it close… dad says he needs to join me when I practice or I will be winning our rounds soon.

*another slightly late* Tournament Recap‼️🚨 I had a great time at the Red Rose Roundup at Muddy Run! I played the first couple RRR in MA4 since no one else was playing in FA1 so I decided I’m gonna stick to it and try to play in as many as possible. This tournament there were only 2 others in MA4 but we had a lot of fun playing this beautiful course finally in some nice weather. Overall felt pretty good off the tee and approach shots, putting felt okay in the beginning but started to dial in in the second round. Had a couple bad holes but still happy with how I played. Ended up tying AGAIN and lost in the playoff AGAIN placing me in second. (Some know me as the least clutch person of all time😔) Wish me luck next time🤞🤞. I started my season today playing MA4 for the first time at the Sol'dier Showdown. I had a little rust to shake and started the day with a +5. After a refreshing break, I was able to shave 6 strokes shooting a personal best 883 rated -1 round. Landing me a podium finish off the chase card. FDGC Flex @ Heritage Park This is the course in Iowa I played my first PDGA event at almost 5 years ago! My friends from MN Benita ( @oldladydiscgolf ) and her husband let my dad know about a flex start here so we drove down to play it on their card. It was really windy the whole round and we were playing all the long tees, so the strategy was to not have any expectations and play things one shot at a time. My first tee shot with an Escape turned more than I wanted and stayed right of the basket, so my dad handed me a @sockibomb13 Felon when throwing into the wind which helped me get a par on hole 2! I had a couple high numbers on the scorecard but most of my holes were 3s 4s and 5s by just playing smart safe shots and discing down to my Emac Truth or Emac Judge to keep things under control. I ended up shooting the round with a rating over 100 points above my rating and my first over 700 this year! I’m glad we played today and that I was able to get good experience handling tough wind conditions for future tournaments.
Spring Rip It Warmup After school I got to play this flex start tournament (thanks to TD @ejbusch for hosting the event!). I haven’t played this course for some time but it’s a fun one and from the shorts are just short enough to give me chances to play for par. I ended up with a birdie on hole 16 and a few pars and finished +12 on the round which also gave me a rating better than my average! The ponds got the best of me, with one tee shot getting recovered and a second getting lost in the water (my last picture is the hole before it went in the water 😢). We usually have good luck finding our discs but it was late and the pond was deep so had to let it go… sad day.
