• Maggie Rogers // Heard It In A Past Life • [5th Anniversary Edition: Blue Vinyl w 7”] “If you keep reaching out then I’ll keep coming back, and if you’re gone for good - I’m okay with that!” ✨ since I am a recent maggie rogers convert (around ‘22) I felt the need to grab this anniversary pressing when it got announced this year. her debut is slowly warming up to me, and I’ve found myself slowly saving more and more material from this era. it’s so different that ‘surrender’ and ‘don’t forget me’ and even ‘notes’ so it’s been a slower process. this isn’t to say the album is bad though, it’s amazing! just very out of my usual genre since it has a very R&B-alt sound to it if that makes sense. radio hits like ‘light on’ and ‘the knife’ immediately draw me in, and make me want to explore the album further. glad to have another piece to the MR collection, and need to get my hands on her latest release! Other than Switchfoot I didn't really feel the emotional energy required to be in the crowd for most of the other bands, and I'm glad the Switchfam I was with felt the same way. I had #girlmath my way into justifying this trip to Atlanta to see Switchfoot by figuring out it was cheaper to see Noah Kahan at Shaky Knees, even when you consider airfare, hotels, food and tickets to the festival than it would be to see him at Deer Creek (a 30 minute drive from my house). That show sold out instantly and the resale tickets were over $1000 when I booked this trip! It was fun! I'm exhausted!
