CHW Spotlight: The gifts and talents of our workforce are ENDLESS. Everyone please help to celebrate Ms. Pam; a true survivor of cancer. She's a fighter with a beautiful soul. Our very own CHW, Atara Estes, and a supportive friend of Ms. Pam through her recovery. The surprise on her face when she was gifted with a handmade, diamond self-portrait from Atara was priceless. “ and for me it was therapeutic from my hectic days to get away from the frontline. Yes, my healing diamond artwork is soothing for the soul. Every detail was created by the inspiration of God. He gave me a gift of healing. Through my personal trauma I'm able to show others that there is life after trauma. Thank you Ms. Pam for accepting my gift and I pray that your days remain, happy healthy and strong in your recovery.” Atara' Healing Art and Photography is thriving after trauma unashamed. Follow her (@ataraestes) for more content and you can help keep this going by liking and sharing this healing post. #youshouldknowus #chwcoalition #communityhealthworker #chw #publichealth #communityleadership #socialentrepreneurship #nonprofit #sdoh #healing #strategy #thrivingaftertrauma #traumasurvivor #cancersurvivor #cancerfighter #lifeaftertrauma

CHW SPOTLIGHT   It’s a blessing to have a workforce who’s equally invested in ownership and impact.   It’s not uncommon for a member of our workforce to have an idea and want to get it out. Most often, they will either set up a meeting with our leadership team, they will send a voice memo sharing their thoughts; that’s our favorite.   Thank you to our workforce for the commitment to this movement.   CHWs – we love this – and YOU! . . . #youshouldknowus #chwcoalition #communityhealthworker #chw #publichealth #communityleadership #socialentrepreneurship #nonprofit #sdoh #healing #strategy

Here's the exciting news! Can someone say $9+ million?!!! $4.7 million in CDC funding has been awarded to the The Saint Louis County Department of Public Health to support CHW work in our community in an effort to build a resilient community! Thank you to The Saint Louis County Department of Public Health and County Executive Sam Page for your generosity in publicly acknowledging the Mosaic Beginnings, LLC team for our hard work that secured this funding!!! The $4.7 million in funding is JUST for year 1!! More is available for years 2 and 3, resulting in $9+ million!!! I am BEYOND ecstatic because of what this means for our community, our region!! The STL CHW Coalition has been doing amazing work for a few years now and CHWs are INVALUABLE! Having leading community organizations recognize their worth and value and THEN work to commit funding to support this very important work, knowing its ability to impact our public health crisis, where issues that existed specifically in the African American community have been exacerbated as a direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic. I love that this funding includes both short term and long term solutions and commitments! I'm grateful for all of the partners who are coming together to make a significant impact!!! Partners include: The Saint Louis County Department of Public Health, City of st. Louis Department of Health, Beyond Housing , St. Louis Integrated Health Network, UMSL-Community Innovation and Action Center, and OF COURSE the amazing STL CHW Coalition, the center of all of this work! It's SOOOOOO exciting to see this happening in our region! Glad we were able to secure this funding for our community! #publichealth #collaboration #CommunityHealthWorkers #systemicracismexists #removingsystemicbarriers #increasingaccess #changing #policychange #shorttermimpact #longtermimpact #enddisparities #CHWCoalition #accountability https://www.ksdk.com/mobile/article/news/health/coronavirus/st-louis-county-groups-cdc-covid-grant/63-75e201c5-8296-4234-acb9-709160846dc1
