Aloo Paratha Recipe (Homemade Punjabi Style) If you’re a fan of bread and potatoes, you’re going to love this Punjabi Aloo Paratha or Aloo ka Paratha. Sometimes spelled Alu Paratha, this potato stuffed flatbread is a popular Indian breakfast that combines two of my favorite starches in a single delectable package. Making the dough correctly and then rolling out the parathas themselves without the potato filling spilling out had me nervous! Very Soft and Tasty Aloo Paratha! It was so soft, so when you fold it you get tear here and there. #manju_self_taught_passionate_cook #manjus_signature_dish #manjus_tiffin_recipes Serves: 6 Parathas Preparation Time: 15 Mins Cooking Time: 30 Mins Ingredients: For Dough 1. Wheat flour - 200 Gms (I use Ashirvad Atta, it gives very soft Rotis) 2. Sesame oil - 2 Tbsp For stuffing: 1. Boiled & Mashed potato - 2 Medium 2. Finely Chopped Onion - 1 Medium 3. Sesame oil - 2 Tbsp 4. Cumin seeds - 1 Tsp 5. Crushed Ginger - 1 Tsp 6. Very finely Chopped Green Chilli - 1/2 7. Sambar powder - 1 Tbsp 8. Red Chilli powder - 1/2 Tsp 9. Garam Masala - 1/2 Tsp 10. Required Rock Salt 11. Finely Chopped Coriander leaves Recipe: Dough Preparation: 1. In a bowl, add wheat flour, oil and knead well. Then add warm water little by little and knead to a non-sticky dough. Let it rest for 30 mins covered. Stuffing Preparation: 1. Meanwhile, in a heated kadai, add oil, cumin seeds, onion, ginger, green chillies & saute until onion turns golden brown. Then add mashed potato, salt, sambar powder, chilli powder, garam masala and mix well. Switch off the flame and add coriander leaves. Aloo Paratha: 1. Make balls from the dough. Roll it flat using a rolling pin and keep the aloo stuffing inside and make a potli and make it flat like a chapathi using a rolling pin. 2. Grease the heated tawa with oil and place the paratha on it and flip them both sides (add oil generously to the both sides of parathas) and cook well. Serve with plain curd.
