I’ve begun the task of ripping an insane amount of material from all the recordings I’ve amassed over the years in order to use in various contexts (including a future podcast, patreon, and digital boxset.) This particular CDR reminded me that the working title for #AHealthyDistrust was “Damaged Goods” due to the fact that I came close to permanently losing my voice on tour just after signing to Epitaph. It’s also crazy to me that there are beats on this 2004 CDR that I still intend on using. Goddamn do the years whip by.

Currently the birds are inside the house to ease any concerns throughout the night from the fireworks. Every year it’s the same thing you see in all the awareness graphics- “companion” animals running away and the shelters and streets filled with lost friends, friends who get so scared they have heart attacks and die on the spot, and friends who run away and don’t find their way home, humans with PTSD reliving their traumas and of course the forgetfulness of the native land it’s done on with the native and/or wild animals who also suffer the consequences of human actions. Hoping the CBD, turning up the tv or music, a space having been set up with their favorite blankets, toys & snacks and staying in to comfort your loved ones who are affected helps. Please consider how others may react to your celebrations, and at the least make an effort to give back.
