"Shark Tank" in the Negev 🚀 At this week's Ben-Gurion University of the Negev's Board of Governors (BOG), our delegates watched The LEADERS "Shark Tank"-style competition showcasing student startups from the Yazamut 360 Entrepreneurship Centre. Four teams delivered compelling business pitches to an international audience. These pitches tackled real-world issues like forest fire management, sleep apnea in premature babies, wheelchair accessibility, and EV charging stations. Deep in the middle of Israel's Negev Desert is Makhtesh Ramon, a large crater. The origin of this crater is unknown as there seem to be no signs that it was caused by meteor impact or by volcanic activity. It's considered an erosion cirque, which is basically a closed valley with steep rock walls on all sides, and it's both the largest erosion cirque in the world and the largest national park in Israel. Despite this status, it's pretty remote, and not many tourists make it far enough into the Negev to see it.
