Krzyżanowski nie jest tak wybitną postacią jak Kościuszko, ale przedstawia etos polskiej imigracji- odbudowa życia w nowym kraju dzięki ciężkiej pracy i uczciwości. Niestety większość książki to bardzo szczegółowe opisy bitew, w których Krzyżanowski brał udział. Są one na tyle szczegółowe, że nie zapadają w pamięć. Za to opis jego życia po wojnie jest znacznie ciekawszy. Czy polecam? Myślę, że trzeba być pasjonatem, żeby chcieć to przeczytać 😊🇺🇸 So this is a biography of a very interesting Polish American historical figure: Vladimir Krzyzanowski. He was a Polish nobleman who fought in the Wielkopolska Uprising in 1848. After its failure, he fled to the US without a dime. He joined the Union army and over time became one of its generals. Krzyzanowski isn’t as significant of a figure as Kosciuszko, but he represents the ethos of the Polish immigrant- with hard work and honesty you can rebuild your life in a foreign land. Most of the book is comprised of in depth descriptions of various battles Krzyzanowski took part in, so a little…boring. However his life after the war is more interesting. Is it a book I would recommend?
