A 35-year-old man was stabbed in northeast Delhi’s Mangla area, police said. Nazir, a resident of Jafrabad area, sustained multiple stab wounds to his forehead, neck, and abdomen by unknown assailants. “He was attacked while riding his scooter near Mangla Hospital street in Jafrabad around 6:45 pm,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (northeast) Joy Tirkey. Police received a distress call at 6:59 pm and found Nazir deceased on the street, approximately 250 meters from his residence. तिहाड़ जेल परिसर की सेंट्रल जेल-3 में एक कैदी की हत्या कर दी गई। मृतक का नाम दीपक बताया जा रहा है। उसकी उम्र 29 साल थी। वहीं, उसकी हत्या करने वाले कैदी का नाम अब्दुल बशीर अखोंदजादा है। इसकी उम्र 44 साल है और यह मूल रूप से अफगानिस्तान का रहने वाला है। दोनों कैदियों के बीच खाने के लेकर विवाद हुआ था। इसके बाद अब्दुल ने धारदार हथियार से दीपक के सीने पर वार किया। जेल प्रशासन ने खबर मिलते ही दीपक को अस्पताल पहुंचाया, लेकिन तब तक उसकी मौत हो चुकी थी। दीन दयाल उपाध्याय अस्पताल से हरि नगर पुलिस स्टेशन में दीपक की मौत के बारे में सूचित किया गया। दीपक सेंट्रेल जेल नंबर तीन में कैद था। वह दिल्ली के शकुरपुर इलाके की गली नंबर तीन का रहने वाला था। अस्पताल के अनुसार दीपक के सीने में धारदार हथियार से वार का घाव था। दीपक हत्या और लूटपाट के आरोप में जेल में बंद था। उसके खिलाफ पश्चिम विहार पुलिस स्टेशन में एफआईआर दर्ज हुई थी। वहीं, उसकी हत्या करने वाला अब्दुल हत्या के आरोप में बंद था। उसके खिलाफ लाजपत नगर थाने में मामला दर्ज है। इस मामले में कार्रवाई के लिए तीस हजारी कोर्ट को सूचित किया गया है। जेल में दीपक सेवादार का काम भी करता था। इसी वजह से दीपक और अब्दुल के बीच खाने को लेकर विवाद हुआ था। इसके बाद अब्दुल ने मौका मिलते ही किसी नुकीली धातु से दीपक के सीने पर वार कर उसकी हत्या कर दी। आम आदमी पार्टी ने अरविंद केजरीवाल की सुरक्षा को लेकर भी चिंता जाहिर की है। केजरीवाल तिहाड़ जेल परिसर की सेंट्रल जेल संख्या-2 में बंद हैं। हालांकि, उनकी सुरक्षा के पूरे इंतजाम किए गए हैं। इसके बावजूद आम आदमी पार्टी के नेता संजय सिंह ने कहा था कि केजरीवाल के साथ साजिश हो रही है। उनके साथ किसी भी तरह का हादसा हो सकता है। #delhincr #DelhiNcrNews #jail #TihadJail #prisoner #death #AAPDelhi #SanjaySingh #sampadakexpress #newsfeed #newstoday #NewsUpdate

A man, sought in connection with a murder case and on the run, was arrested following a brief exchange of gunfire near Signature Bridge early Thursday, police said. Umar, 24, hailing from Chauhan Banger, sustained a gunshot wound to his right leg during the police confrontation, authorities said. In April, Delhi experienced the highest number of ‘good to moderate’ air quality days since 2018, with only seven days surpassing an AQI of 200 this year. This improvement comes in contrast to 2020, when pollution levels plummeted due to the strict lockdown amid the Covid pandemic. According to the Centre’s Commission for Air Quality Management, there were 13 such days in 2023, 30 in 2022, 12 in 2021, 18 in 2019, and 22 in 2018. The average AQI in Delhi for April 2024 stood at 182, marking the second lowest figure in the past seven years. This compares to 180 in 2023, 255 in 2022, 202 in 2021, 110 in 2020, 211 in 2019, and 222 in 2018. A 33-year-old mechanic was fatally stabbed on Sunday at his rented house in the Mahindra Park area of northwest Delhi, according to police reports. The victim, identified as Zahid, was acquainted with the alleged perpetrator, named Ravi, who is believed to have been involved in a dispute with Zahid, reportedly over a personal matter. Authorities received a PCR call reporting a stabbing incident at Mahindra Park Police Station around 4:30 pm. Zahid and Ravi were both associated with a woman who was present at the scene during the altercation, an officer said. “Zahid confronted Ravi after finding him with the woman at his residence. This led to a verbal confrontation, culminating in Ravi fatally stabbing Zahid,” a senior police officer explained. Ravi, sustaining injuries during the altercation, promptly alerted the police after the incident. “Ravi contacted the authorities himself to report the incident. It called for gender sensitivity to be integrated into judicial education, urging the Delhi Judicial Academy to include it in its curriculum. In the case at hand, both the husband and wife were employed by the Delhi Police, yet the lower court unfairly favored the husband based on his professional position while disregarding the wife’s complaints. The court emphasized that professional achievements should enhance, not diminish, an individual’s standing, and noted that despite their success in the workplace, women can still face power imbalances and mistreatment in their personal lives. The High Court asserted that women, regardless of their profession or background, deserve equal respect, recognition, and legal protection. सोशल मीडिया प्लेटफॉर्म व्हाट्सऐप ने दिल्ली हाईकोर्ट में एनक्रिप्शन हटाने से मना कर दिया है और साफ तौर से कह दिया है कि अगर उसे एनक्रिप्शन हटाने को कहा गया तो वह भारत छोड़ देगा। व्हाट्सऐप ने दिल्ली हाईकोर्ट को बताया है कि अगर उसे मैसेज एन्क्रिप्शन तोड़ने के लिए मजबूर किया गया तो व्हाट्सऐप भारत में प्रभावी रूप से बंद हो जाएगा। मेटा के स्वामित्व वाली कंपनी व्हाट्सऐप ने कहा कि एंड-टू-एंड एन्क्रिप्शन यह सुनिश्चित करके यूजर्स की प्राइवेसी की रक्षा करता है। इसके जरिए यह सुनिश्चित किया जाता है कि केवल सेंडर और प्राप्तकर्ता ही अंदर के कंटेट को जान सकते हैं। दरअसल, मेटा की कंपनी व्हाट्सऐप ने IT रूल्स 2021 को चुनौती दी है। खास बात यह है कि भारत में इंस्टेंट मैसेजिंग ऐप व्हाट्सऐप के 400 मिलियन यानी 40 करोड़ से भी ज्यादा यूजर्स हैं। जो इसे इस प्लेटफॉर्म के लिए सबसे बड़ा बाजार बनाता है। व्हाट्सऐप की ओर से कोर्ट में पेश हुए वकील तेजस करिया ने डिवीजन बेंच को बताया, ‘एक प्लेटफॉर्म के तौर पर हम कह रहे हैं कि अगर हमें एन्क्रिप्शन तोड़ने के लिए कहा जाता है, तो व्हाट्सऐप चला जाएगा। यहां तक कि कंपनी भी एंड-टू-एंड एन्क्रिप्शन में यूजर्स के मैसेज नहीं देख सकती है। कंपनी ने कोर्ट में कहा कि नए नियमों से यूजर की प्राइवेसी खतरे में आ सकती है। सरकार ने इसके लिए प्लेटफॉर्म के साथ कंसल्ट भी नहीं किया। व्हाट्सऐप के वकील करिया ने कहा, ''दुनिया में कहीं और ऐसा कोई नियम नहीं है। ब्राज़ील में भी नहीं। हमें पूरी चेन रखनी होगी और हमें नहीं पता कि कौन से मैसेज को डिक्रिप्ट करने के लिए कहा जाएगा।'' इसका मतलब है कि लाखों-करोड़ों संदेशों को कई वर्षों तक संग्रहीत करना होगा। व्हाट्सऐप ने तर्क दिया है कि यह नियम एन्क्रिप्शन के साथ-साथ यूजर्स की गोपनीयता भी कमजोर करते हैं। यह भारत के संविधान के अनुच्छेद 14, 19 और 21 के तहत गारंटीकृत उपयोगकर्ताओं के मौलिक अधिकारों का भी उल्लंघन करता है। हालांकि, केंद्र सरकार की ओर से पेश कीर्तिमान सिंह ने नियमों का बचाव करते हुए संदेश भेजने वालों का पता लगाने की आवश्यकता पर जोर दिया। कीर्तिमान सिंह ने तर्क दिया कि आज के माहौल में ऐसी व्यवस्था जरूरी है। इसके बाद दिल्ली हाईकोर्ट ने व्हाट्सएप और मेटा की याचिकाओं को 14 अगस्त को सुनवाई के लिए सूचीबद्ध किया। पीठ ने कहा कि गोपनीयता के अधिकार पूर्ण नहीं हैं और कहीं न कहीं संतुलन बनाना होगा। #delhincr #DelhiNcrNews #Whatsaap #endtoendencrypted #DelhiHighCourt #privacy #newsfeed #NewsUpdate #sampadakexpress #newstoday
The 16th edition of Habitat Film Festival will present a variety of Indian cinema across genres. The festival will feature around 40 feature films, 10 documentaries, and three short film packages, all produced between 2023-24. Taking place from May 3-12 at the India Habitat Centre (IHC), Delhi, the festival will offer a collateral programme including retrospectives, workshops, filmmaking master classes, panel and film book discussions. The festival will open with the Marathi film “Sthal” (A Match) that won the NETPAC Award at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival. Directed by Jayant Somalkar, the film presents an uncompromising portrayal of Indian matchmaking. Shot with non-professional actors in the Vidarbha region, the film portrays a young woman fighting for her agency when she is forced into an arranged marriage. The opening night will also see Sabharwal’s “Berlin” featuring actors Ishwak Singh and Aparshakti Khurana. The feature film lineup at the festival includes films in Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Malayalam, Kannada, Maithili, Santali, Assamese, Gujarati, Tamil, Odia, Jaintia, Manipuri, Tulu, Nepali, Bhantu, and Garo languages. Some of the films to be showcased at the festival are: “Kaathal – The Core” (Malayalam), “Ardhangini” (Bengali), “All India Rank” (Hindi), “Mithya” (Kannada), “Samanantar” (Maithili and Hindi), “Joseph’s Son” (Manipuri), and “Joram” (Hindi). दिल्ली में 26 अप्रैल को होने वाला नगर निगम मेयर और डिप्टी मेयर का चुनाव टल गया है. ऐसा इसलिए क्योंकि अभी तक मेयर का चुनाव करवाने वाले पीठासीन अधिकारी की नियुक्ति ही नहीं हो पाई है. जबकि इस चुनाव को लेकर चुनाव आयोग अपनी मंज़ूरी दे चुका है. चुनाव आयोग ने अपने पत्र में लिखा है कि लोकसभा चुनाव के दौरान होने वाले इस मेयर और डिप्टी मेयर चुनाव को लेकर आयोग को कोई आपत्ति नहीं है. बावजूद इसके मेयर और डिप्टी मेयर का चुनाव अधर में लटका गया. A member of the Neeraj Bawana-Naveen Bali gang was arrested by a Special Cell team following a brief exchange of gunfire in Rohini Sector-34 on Thursday, according to police sources. Rahul Dabas (36) was apprehended in connection with a murder case and is believed to be involved in seven additional cases of attempted murder and extortion, a law enforcement official stated. “The Special Cell received intelligence suggesting he was en route to meet someone in Rohini Sector 34 on Thursday. We set up a trap, and upon encountering the police, he opened fire,” the official explained. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as the police team members were equipped with bulletproof vests. Following his arrest, Dabas was subjected to interrogation, during which a firearm was seized from his possession, the official added. To enhance vigilance and streamline communication among officials during night duties, the Delhi Police has introduced a specialized team known as ‘Delta-48’. This unit, consisting of four personnel, operates as a coordinated force to ensure effective policing during nighttime operations. Delta-48 serves as the designated call sign for these officers, facilitating seamless communication during their patrols and operations. Each police station and district in Delhi has its unique set of call signs for identification and communication purposes. The initiative was launched by Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi), Devesh Kumar Mahla, following his appointment to the position. Comprising constables and head constables, the team operates in rotational shifts within the New Delhi district. Their responsibilities extend beyond mere vigilance; they also provide essential amenities such as tea, snacks, and fluorescent jackets to patrolling staff between 8 pm and 6 am. The New Delhi district, home to key government institutions like the president, prime minister, and parliament, encompasses 10 police stations. Each station is staffed with approximately 100 personnel, including three police inspectors. On April 17, the coordinated efforts of Parliament Street and Kartavya Path police stations led to the apprehension of 28 bikers for reckless driving. DCP Mahla commended the efficacy of the Delta-48 initiative, citing its instrumental role in the swift apprehension of the offenders. He attributed the success to effective communication and coordination among patrolling staff, facilitated by the vigilant monitoring of Delta-48 personnel throughout the night. Under DCP Mahla’s directives, Delta-48 officials are required to make at least two visits to patrolling staff during their shift and submit detailed reports of their observations to the DCP’s office. आगामी 26 अप्रैल को होने वाले दिल्ली के मेयर और डिप्टी मेयर के चुनाव को लेकर कई दिनों से संशय बना हुआ था, लेकिन अब निर्वाचन आयोग की तरफ से चुनाव पर लटकी संशय की तलवार हट गई है. दरअसल, चुनाव आयोग ने दिल्ली नगर निगम के शेड्यूल को मंजूरी दे दी है. अब 26 अप्रैल को एमसीडी की ओर से बुलाई गई बैठक में मेयर व डिप्टी मेयर के लिए चुनाव होगा. इस बाबत एक पत्र दिल्ली के मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी कार्यालय को लिखकर साफ कर दिया है कि आदर्श आचार संहिता को लेकर किसी प्रकार की समस्या नहीं है. दरअसल, लोकसभा चुनाव के मद्देनजर किसी दूसरे चुनाव के होने या नहीं होने के लिए सवाल खड़े हो रहे थे. इसको लेकर एमसीडी ने उपराज्यपाल कार्यालय के जरिए निर्वाचन आयोग से अनुमति मांगी थी. सूत्रों के अनुसार, अब चुनाव आयोग ने एमसीडी मेयर के चुनाव को हरी झंडी दे दी है. बताया जा रहा है कि मेयर और डिप्टी मेयर के चुनाव कराने में कोई आपत्ति नहीं है. आयोग से मिली अनुमति के बाद अब माना जा रहा है कि 26 अप्रैल को तय तारीख पर ही मेयर चुनाव कराए जाएंगे. निगम अधिकारियों की मानें तो मेयर के चुनाव में जो प्रक्रिया अपनाई जाती है, उसके अनुसार पीठासीन अधिकारी तय करने के लिए निगम की ओर से फाइल दिल्ली सरकार के शहरी विकास विभाग को भेजी जाती है. शहरी विकास विभाग के पास से यह फाइल फिर मुख्यमंत्री के पास जाती है और मुख्यमंत्री के पास से फिर फाइल उपराज्यपाल के पास जाती है. एलजी निगम के प्रशासक हैं. अंतिम फैसला लेने की शक्ति उन्हीं के पास होती है. इसलिए एलजी द्वारा फाइल को मंजूरी देने के बाद पीठासीन अधिकारी की नियुक्ति होती है. #delhincr #DelhiNcrNews #Electioncommission #ElectionCommissionOfIndia #delhimayor #delhimayorpoll #newsfeed #newstoday #NewsUpdate #DeputyMayor
देश की राजधानी दिल्ली में आपराधिक घटनाएं थमने का नाम नहीं ले रही हैं. 24 अप्रैल की देर शाम दिल्ली में इंडिया गेट के पास एक झगड़े के दौरान प्रभाकर नाम के 25 वर्षीय आइसक्रीम विक्रेता की चाकू मारकर हत्या कर दी गई. पुलिस आईपीसी की धारा 302 के तहत हत्या का मामला दर्ज कर जांच में जुटी है. दिल्ली पुलिस ने आइसक्रीम विक्रेता के हत्यारोपी को गिरफ्तार कर लिया है. पुलिस अभी हत्यारोपी से पूछताछ कर रही है. इंडिया गेट पर वेंडर की हत्या की सूचना दिल्ली पुलिस को बुधवार देर शाम मिली. तत्काल मौके पर पहुंची पुलिट टीम पीड़िता को अस्पताल ले गई. अस्पताल में इलाज के दौरान पीड़िता ने दम तोड़ दिया. दिल्ली पुलिस की टीम को शुरुआत जांच में पता चलता है कि मृतक पर झगड़े के कारण चाकू से हमला किया गया था. मृतक के शरीर पर तीन घाव हैं. जिनमें से एक काफी गहरा है, जिसके कारण उसकी मौत हो गई. दिल्ली पुलिस ने न्यूज एजेंसी एएनआई को बताया हमने पीड़ित के बैग से कुछ पैसे और एक घड़ी भी बरामद हुई है. #DelhiNcrNews #delhincr #death #murders #icecreamvendor #newsfeed #NewsUpdate #newstoday #police #indiagate
