It feels comfortable ‘in the hand’ and is simple to use. It has a 30 - 120mm zoom lens & built-in flash. An interesting take on the still camera. APS system cameras were jointly developed by the major manufacturers to be easier to use than conventional 35mm. They use an automatic load film cartridge. Introduced in 1996, the timing wasn’t right. Digital cameras started to become more popular in early 2000’s, and by 2004, manufacture of APS cameras ended. Film cartridges continued to be produced until 2011. However, out of date film is still available, and it can be processed by some specialist companies. Back to January when I took a day trip out to Albemarle and took some texture double exposures with a cheap but cute APS film point-and-shoot (see last pic for the adorable camera). Today marks FOUR YEARS since the first case of COVID-19 was identified in Canada. We’ve been living through this pandemic for almost as long as World War One. For some, it may feel like the pandemic has been over for a while, based on the job you have or the people in your life. For others, one’s work life may still be filled with PPE, or it still doesn’t feel safe to leave one’s home. After taking more precautions than most people since early 2021-ish, and discovering that there are people who take way more precautions than I take, it seems that I finally got COVID in November. I say “seems” because I had mild symptoms and there was no string of obvious double-line tests; just one very faint double line test, once, surrounded by negative tests for days on either side. Anyway, the pandemic is not over, but at least the new variants seem to be getting weaker. One day I would like to return to normal; you know, breathing indoor public air without any concern whatsoever that I’ll get sick from it. It must be nice to have that kind of mentality. But there are four things about the pandemic that I’m grateful for: 1. It showed that I can do the vast majority of my job tasks from home. 2. I got back into film photography. 3. I got back into camping. 4.
