It’s my birthday today! 🥳 There are 28 candles on my cake and I will blow them out one by one with excitement. However, the number on the picture doesn’t say 28? Nope, this was last year in Morocco. My birthday looked a bit different than it normally would look like. I was doing a road trip with a friend through this country. We were in the blue city, Chefchaouen, and planned a food tour for my birthday. Unfortunately, she got sick and had to stay in bed. Canceling was not an option for me as a huge foodie, so I decided to do the food tour on my own. Together with the guide, we were walking around the city. I tried a lot of delicious food, and we ended up at a restaurant where I ate the best sardine tagine of my life. At the moment I thought we were about to leave the restaurant, the tour guide asked me to sit down at a table on the other side of the restaurant. He started to search for something on an iPad and the restaurant owner turned the lights off. Suddenly, the whole restaurant crew came down to me with a little cake and sang a happy birthday song to me. A moment I will never forget. This was a moment in which I expected to feel lonely because I thought I was alone at that moment. But it turned out I wasn’t.
