The boy and I rolled out of our beds to walk the #RivelinValleyTrail and oh my goodness the recent storms have made a mess of it. Bits of the trail are not really passable without getting very muddy or wet, some precarious bouldering from us both today. Saddened by the Flooding Damage Along Rivelin Valley Trail 😢 I walked along the Rivelin Valley trail earlier today and was disheartened to see the extensive damage left behind from recent flooding. Large sections of the path have been washed away or covered in debris. Fallen trees and rocks also make some areas nearly impossible to pass. Stone crossings & stepping stones have also been severely damaged in many parts of the trail. It’s clear major restoration work is needed to repair the trail. I felt saddened to see this favorite local spot of mine beaten and in such dire condition. @parkssheffield @heritagesheffield @theoutdoorcity @sheffield_park_and_garden @sheffieldcitycouncil @visitsheffield I’m hopeful restoration efforts can start soon - the native plants still seem to be holding on, so replanting may help prevent future erosion. The weekend is nearly here and not a moment too soon. One of my staff has been very ill this week and it's a real nuisance, I don't get half the attention I deserve and any chance of being very high goes right down. Just because their lungs can bearly breath, it seems a feeble excuse in my small dachshunds guide to ailments. Having a leg cut off constitutes a problem with walking, perhaps having a head cut off as it would be difficult to see where you were going. But anything less... So I've not granted the request for time off, and hope to be out somewhere pretty tomorrow as apparently some light ball is due in the sky, they call it the sun, I have a distant memory of something like that...
