Dog Soldiers A routine military exercise turns into a nightmare in the Scottish wilderness. Starring - Emma Cleasby, Sean Pertwee, Darren Morfitt, Kevin McKidd, Liam Cunningham. This was a recommendation from @hughv302 I gave this a go last night and honestly it was such a fun film. Action/horrors are something you rarely find these days, so it was a treat to go back to 2002 and watch this movie. It revolves around a group of guys on a military exercise up in the Scottish Highlands. This is just a simple training mission, until.....they come across evidence of something horrific lurking out in the woods. What i really liked about this film was how it build up the camaraderie between the guys. You genuinely believe this is a group that know each other inside out, which plays into the survival aspect as they know each others strengths and weaknesses. But i really enjoyed too that the film really does live up to it's billing as an action/horror. There are tons of badass fights and inventive creations to try and fight these beasts. But so too is the genuine horrifying feeling of being trapped and not seeing any way out. The story i have to say aswell, it seems a straightforward enough one, but there were still little twists and turns i never saw coming and the entire last 20 minutes was sheer insanity with how chaotic things got and it made it very entertaining!. Standouts - I feel like i say it a lot but with films like these where they revolve around a group, it really is shared, as they all did a good job. But i have to give mention to Darren Morfitt, who played Spoon, he completely dived into the badass role of his character and it was a joy to watch!. Bottom line, a film i definitely recommend you check out, it works as both an action and a horror film. But most of all it's just plain entertaining and has you hooked all the way through wondering how it's all going to end!. Available to Buy/Rent. What did you think of the Movie?

Mimo trzydziestu pięciu lat na karku, film dalej dostarcza masę rozrywki w futurystycznym klimacie. To naprawdę niesamowite, ile można „wycisnąć” z niewielkiego opowiadania Philipa K. Dicka z lat sześćdziesiątych. Marsjańsko-czerwony klimat aż wylewa się z ekranu, do tego naprawdę dobre efekty specjalne, genialny soundtrack od Jerrrego Goldsmitha i bardzo udany casting z Arnoldem na czele! Film z pewnością znajdzie miejsce na mojej półce z ulubionymi filmami. 🥰 - 🇬🇧 "Total Recall" from 1990 is (even at present time) an excellent action film set in the sci-fi genre. Despite being thirty-five years old, the movie continues to provide a lot of entertainment in a futuristic setting. It's truly amazing how much can be "squeezed" out of a small story by Philip K. Dick from the sixties. The Martian-red atmosphere spills off the screen, along with really good special effects, an outstanding soundtrack by Jerry Goldsmith, and a very successful casting with Arnold at the forefront! Con esta sinopsis puede parecer que estamos hablando de "Érase una vez...El cuerpo humano", pero no. Se trata de un Manga publicado en 2015 y adaptado como anime (serie para la televisión) en 2018. Sus personajes, su historia y su animación no tienen nada que ver con la serie de "Erase una vez...El cuerpo Humano". Ésta a pesar de tener ciertos toques educativos, le da un toque bastante más adulto, dejando de lado las lecciones de medicina, para darle más importancia a la acción y a la sangre como tal. Tiene peleas muy chulas y dinámicas, con ciertos toques gore y juega muy bien sus cartas con los momentos precisos de humor. Winona Ryder’s performance as the main character was incredible. Like, INCREDIBLE. I don’t think I’ve seen such amazing acting from her before, likely because I haven’t seen many dramas with her. The story was really interesting, but I wish there was more backstory on the individual characters. Like, deep explanations as to their history with themselves and others, and maybe some more screen time for the other patients in the mental institution. Despite this, the characters were amazingly depicted personalities that were all unique from one another. “Let them fight.” Happy 10th anniversary to #GarethEdwards’ #Godzilla! What a movie. As a lifelong Godzilla fan it was kind of everything I hoped for and seeing it opening night with a room full of Godzilla fans was one of the best theater-going experiences I’ve ever had. Multiple moments had the entire room electric with anticipation: Big G’s first appearance, when his tail first glows blue, and the final kill had our theater in a chokehold. Some complain about the human characters and yeah, #BryanCranston isn’t in it enough, but I think they’re solid enough and are worked well into the story. The real standouts are the stunning effects, #AlexandreDesplat’s rousing score, #KenWatanabe’s line deliveries, and the fact that we finally got an American Godzilla that isn’t an abomination. I had a blast with all three theater viewings as well as each time I catch it at home. While the rest of the Monsterverse has followed in the footsteps of the Showa era (which I do enjoy!), I’ll always appreciate a more grounded Godzilla outing. As such, this remains one of my favorites in the series. So a few days ago was officially TOP GUN DAY, so naturally I had to celebrate in style by cracking out a rewatch of MAVERICK on 4K. This film gets better and better on each viewing, from the spectacular flight sequences, action and even @tomcruise himself should be noted for his great performance in returning to his iconic character. Unfortunately my initial cinema visit watching this film was met with disappointingly low sound valume, so it’s a pleasure to crank it up at home with a full surround sound system. Sting is a pretty fun horror movie. I wasn't expecting much, but I ended up enjoying it. It's surprisingly well-made and features good camera work, a solid atmosphere and well-executed kills. It's very campy and self-aware, but it also has moments where it tries to be serious, inject some drama and develop its characters. The tonal shifts won't work for everyone. There were several times where I too thought that the constant back and forth between the two would be the movie's undoing, but somehow it always managed to stick the landing. The kills are fun and the gore is well done, but one thing the movie fails to do is be scary. The spider didn't creep me out. I'm terrified of spiders, but I wasn't fazed during the movie at all. It never captures what makes them so frightening and disturbing in real life. The cast is very solid. #alylabrowne does a very good job. Her character is a bit annoying at times, but at the end of the day, I did like her. #ryancorr is also great as her stepfather. The relationship between them is good, although it could've been fleshed out more. The supporting actors also make an impression. They do a great job going along with the movie's campiness. Turtles all the way down A teenager with OCD tries to solve a mystery surrounding a fugitive billionaire. Starring - Isabela Merced, Cree, Judy Reyes, Felix Mallard, Maliq Johnson, J Smith-Cameron. I had been interested in seeing this one since i saw it advertised a couple weeks back. Mainly because it looked interesting, but also because i was curious at how they would portray it, as i had the hand washing compulsion aspect when i was younger too and could relate. Honestly i thought it was decent. I would have liked a little more into the OCD side of things, but i can appreciate the tone of the movie, so it did a good job of walking that line between showing the issues and still moving the plot forward. Honestly the murder mystery aspect is like 1% of the movie. It is mostly around showing what life is like for someone with this condition. The movie intertwined Aza's (Merced) OCD so well with how it impacted her normal life. As we see things going along normally then suddenly she is in a thought spiral of needing to get clean or she will catch a disease. It really is quite harrowing to see it, and Aza's was probably more mild when you think of some of the cases you read about and see where people cannot function because of how severe there compulsions are. But i liked how it showed the realistic side of it too. As we saw not only how it affected Aza, but how her friends and family felt because of it too, with their reactions being honestly valid. It is a movie that above anything i just thought was really genuine. It showcased trying to live life and all the normal issues life throws up. But trying to navigate those whilst also having this condition on top of it, making things harder. Standouts - I loved Isabela Merced and Cree as Aza and Daisy. Their friendship was so genuine and how Daisy would comfort Aza was so sweet!. Also Judy Reyes gave a really good performance too!. Bottom line, a movie that gives you a glimpse into a persons life who has OCD, the challenges they face because of that, in trying to deal with normal life issues too and honestly it does give a little hope too i thought.
