The peak of Star Wars, the sci-fi genre, blockbuster filmmaking, and movies themselves. Here are my personal thoughts on Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. This is one of my favorite films of all time and I know I am not alone in that opinion or have said anything too original here, but I just wanted to give my brief thoughts on this film and what it means to me. Problemista is a strange comedy that made me chuckle a few times throughout. This is an interesting movie, but I'm not sure it's something many people would enjoy or be able to connect to. This follows a young aspiring toy designer looking for someone willing to sponsor him before his work visa runs out. Throughout this movie, Alejandro is a shy, awkward guy who seems like a pushover but eventually learns to stand up for himself. Overall, this is a decent movie that I would recommend checking out on streaming. 7.3/10 #problemista #movie #movies #review #reviews #reccomendation #reccomendations #moviereviews #moviereccomendations #comedy #tildaswinton #juliotorres #workvisa

Yorgos Lanthimos’ new film Kinds of Kindness is a cinematic event! This film, with its three intriguing tales, explores the human condition in true Lanthimos style—darkly funny and thought-provoking. Jesse Plemons and Willem Dafoe deliver standout performances in a story that questions free will and morality. Though it may not top The Lobster, it’s a mesmerizing return to Lanthimos’ unique vision. Pretty good! I can't help but compare it to Dawn and War, which I think are stronger, but obviously they're the second and third movies in a trilogy so it's an unfair comparison. On that note though I think it shows how much this has to pave the way for at least another movie or two, for better or worse, with having to introduce new characters for us to get invested in (after the timeskip) and advancing the timeline further, but there are some interesting and fun ideas and elements here. I enjoyed it and the arcs of the characters focused on, but it didn't blow me away. I'm not saying every movie has to blow me away as that would be impossible but just saying how I felt about it. The effects were legendary of course though, it was cool to see them on the big screen for once as this was the first of these I've seen at the cinema. Worth a watch though! I'm intrigued to see where this goes next, especially given what the ending might be teasing. #planetoftheapes #kingdomoftheplanetoftheapes #20thcenturystudios #wesball #monkey #monkeys #ape #apes #cinema #cinematic #film #films #movie #movies #entertainment #review #filmreview #filmreviews #moviereview #moviereviews

The Fall Guy is very much a movie about movies. Just like Cinema Paradiso, Babylon and The Fabelmans. But instead of trying to capture the magic of filmmaking or its history, it draws attention to the unsung heroes of movies: stunt actors. And I would say it does that well. Anyone watching this movie would probably enjoy the stunts and action set pieces the most. Especially the final third and end scenes are action-packed with breathtaking stunts that are well-directed and impressively executed. The narrative of The Fall Guy is very meh, it's a movie and not much else. The comedy is decent and produced a few chuckles but there is nothing extraordinary in the writing department. Gosling is doing an okay job for the shallow material and the same can be said for all other actors involved. Again, this is not supposed to be a narrative masterpiece but a spotlight for stunts and the people involved in it. Thus, the shallow writing can be well excused, especially since the comedic elements work all right. The thing I adored most though, is the sort of behind-the-scenes reel next to the credits after the end of the film. Blooper reels are a staple of 90s and 00s filmmaking and are incredibly endearing to the viewer. Especially when showing the stunts and the production of such a film it really elevates the effect of the action scenes. David Leitch did a good job with this. It's a very fun and industry-meaningful film that I am upset to see flop at the box office. It's no where near Leitch’s other films, mainly John Wick 1 and Atomic Blonde, but still a good watch. • #cinema #cinemalover #cinemalovers #cinematography #cinephile #cinephiles #cinephilecommunity #filmdirector #filmcommunity #filmreview #filmreviews #moviereview #moviereviews #moviereviewer #moviecritic #indiefilm #indiefilms #movielover #movielovers #movierecommendation #filmlife #letterboxd #thefallguy #ryangosling #emilyblunt #davidleitch #barbie #ken #aarontaylorjohnson #winstonduke

5/10 Bug Film by Jeannot Szwarc After a violent earthquake in a small town large cockroach-like bugs pop up around town with the ability to light fires. Soon their victims begin to pile up and the community is thrown into chaos. Professor James Parmiter believes he holds the answer to their destruction or their evolution. 1975 weird science SciFi insect horror. Definitely a product of the times, very seventies storytelling. Pretty simple plot that gets unusual as it goes on. The main draw is the bugs and their destructive element does not disappoint. At first they seem just silly or farfetched but once examined and explained, they sound straight up terrifying. Scenes of victims are pretty brutal. Bursting them into flames. This film lost many points for the visual and horrifying second victim. Poor kitty kitty. It's a pretty standard bugs vs town story for a while until its professor vs bugs, it gets weird and motives are very unclear. Got some good kills throughout and the evolution of the bugs is pretty scary. Other than this it's odd and the production quality is subpar even for the time. One notable moment when while a female character is dying she is replaced by a stunt man in flames. Acting is fairly wooden and not always convincing, though Bradford Dillman seems like a heavy hitter. One great scene in his lab after a tragedy. Many moments confused me, maybe my attention got disengaged at times, but it seemed the facts of the bugs and their behaviour were wildly inconsistent. Definitely plenty of effort was put into filming though, some effects are really impressive, particularly the church scene during the earthquake at beginning, and damn decent production design. It's not a flawless film but does dive into the horror of the situation. The bugs are freaky, music cool, conclusion epic. Wouldn't watch again but happy enough it exists. I was on a creature feature kick and The Monster (2016) came up on my recommended; the poster and description seemed good enough so why not give it a shot. A mom and her 10 year old daughter are stranded on a desolate road in the woods after they hit something in the road and crash the car. Luckily help is coming, the only problem is, there is something in the woods and it is coming for them. This was a decent monster movie. They didn’t show the monster much and when they finally did it wasn’t great. Cool big teeth but just mostly all black without much cool detail. The story worked well but it just wasn’t the most exciting. If you find it streaming free it’s worth watching but don’t go out of your way. ⭐️⭐️1/2 #themonster #creaturefeature #monstermovie #monstermovies #horror #horrormovies #horrormovie #horrorfan #horrorfilm #horroraddict #horroraddicts #horroraddiction #horroraddicted #horrorjunkie #horrorcommunity #horrorlover #horrorfilms #horrorfiend #horrorgeek #horrorfanatic #horrorreview #horrorreviews #movie #movies #moviereview #moviereviews #movielover #movierecommendation

REVIEWED! RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES (2011), directed by Rupert Wyatt, starring James Franco, Andy Serkis, Freida Pinto, and Tom Felton. The fast pace causes certain characters to go underdeveloped, but “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” displays some impressive VFX and proves it can make a solid character out of a chimp. 7/10 ⚠️ SPOILERS BEGIN BELOW ⚠️ The CGI for Caesar and the other apes really is quite impressive. It’s difficult to get CGI to work with characters or animals that have hair, like an ape, but Caesar always carries weight in the scenes he’s in, thanks in part to the use of motion capture. What’s something so smart about the apes’ designs, though, is that the VFX artists made a clear, but important distinction between the intelligent apes and the normal ones through the look of their eyes. Patrick Doyle’s score may be a bit cliché, but it does add to the film. The rapid arpeggiation employed in many of the themes speaks to the rapid evolution Caesar and the other apes undergo throughout the film. The quick pacing of this film has a ripple effect on the rest of the writing. Caesar and Will get enough attention, but many other characters are left barely developed to accomplish this. Caroline is a prime example. She gets the thesis of her character out without the beats to support it, and, as such, feels flat. Jacobs is the same way. Additionally, the time jumps in the first act can be rather jarring, and the ending wraps up far too quickly. Most of the actors in the film give rather flat performances as a result. Andy Serkis provides easily the most engaging performance of the movie, and he has about four words of dialogue behind the CGI of Caesar. The action of the third act is certainly compelling, though. It’s tense, since you’ll actually care about Caesar at that point in the film, and it’s been set up what the humans are willing to do to stop the apes.

🎞️ ‘EILEEN’ - short review. An adaptation of the Ottessa Moshfegh novel of the same name, Eileen (Thomasin McKenzie) works as a secretary at a juvenile detention centre for boys. As a young woman yet to fully discover herself, she lives an unfulfilled, dull existence with her alcoholic former police chief father. When glamorous psychologist Rebecca (Anne Hathaway) starts at the prison, Eileen immediately becomes enamoured with her and they form an unlikely friendship. The first two thirds of the film are a slow burn, until Rebecca suddenly reveals a dark secret and things take a shocking twist. Sadly it’s too little, too late. The outstanding performances from the two lead actresses should be enough to hold this noir piece together, but the languishing pace and inconclusive ending will leave you dissatisfied. Terminator Genisys - M - 2015 Director: Alan Taylor Plot: When John Connor, leader of the human resistance, sends Sgt. Kyle Reese back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor and safeguard the future, an unexpected turn of events creates a fractured timeline. Thoughts on movie: The first 4 movies did such a good job at sticking with a timeline and continuous storyline about the terminators and skynet but this movie just throws a big spanner in the works. We did not need a new look at Sarah Connor and more of a story about Kyle Reese. The first movies events don’t need to be touched and how this movie went about affecting that pretty much just means we didn’t need terminator 1. I didn’t like the next rebrand of John Connor but even just not seeing a lot about him and the resistance and more him just being used for his face. Enough with the bad and some of the cringe moments between Arnold and a few of the characters let’s get onto the amazing cgi. The standout about this movie is how good the effects are. The liquid effects get better and better each film and how smooth the transitions are from human to terminator. I was a little dissatisfied with the cgi Arnold’s and wish they just used scenes from the first film but understand why they wouldn’t. The action scenes were pretty good but the pacing of the film felt a little bit jumpy in parts almost like we were skipping key moments that were needed but also some slow moments that felt cringe and like they weren’t needed. I love the look of the machines they’re looking better and having more of an impact in each film and the helicopter chases and scenes with vehicles aswell as weapons are entertaining and enjoyable to watch. All together tho this movie is okay, it’s not needed, the characters aren’t great but the action and sci fi look awesome so definitely check it out. What were your thoughts on this movie? A 5/5 for this one. Bring your tissues as it will have you laughing, crying, smiling and hitting every emotion in this live-action, animated masterpiece. A must-see for anyone who had ‘Imaginary Friends’ when they were younger. So what's it all about? A young girl (Bea) moves in with her Grandmother whilst her Dad is in hospital awaiting some surgery. Sadly we learn this is also the same hospital she lost her mother in several years earlier. Whilst at her grandmother's apartment she meets Cal and a strange-looking girl who live upstairs. Cal introduces Bea to the world of Imaginary Friends (IF’s) and shares his job to resource new people for those ‘IFs’ whose owners have grown up and forgotten them. Bea then works with Cal to try and reunite some of these IF’s with their original owners who have now grown up. It’s a wonderful story, told really well with some twists along the way, but take some tissues as it will have your heart in your throat and a tear in your eye several times. A massive thank you to @arccinemadaventry for showing this one. A great place to watch all the latest movies. #movies2024 #Movies #filmreview #films #moviereviews #ForTheLoveOfFilms #IFMovie #iffilm

#QuickMovieReview THE GARFIELD MOVIE (dir. Mark Dindal) For the most part, #TheGarfieldMovie is exactly what you expected it to be. It’s a sparky, sarky, slapstick, shenanigans-heavy, predictable farce aimed squarely at kids but with a slight edge to it that should work for adults/parents. It also has a bit of heart to it with the father and son stuff which I wasn’t expecting and edges this above your average kid-friendly animated fare. Can’t say I warmed a whole lot to Chris Pratt’s Garfield though. Solid stuff all round. Score: ★ ★ ★

Night Swim 🌟 6/10 Director: Bryce Mcguire Writer: Bryce Mcguire, Rod Blackhurst Production company: Atomic Monster, Blumhouse Productions, Government of New South Wales, Australia Run time: 1hr 38mins Release date: 5th January 2024 Forced into early retirement by a degenerative illness, former baseball player Ray Waller moves into a new house with his wife and two children. He hopes that the backyard swimming pool will be fun for the kids and provide physical therapy for himself. However, a dark secret from the home's past soon unleashes a malevolent force that drags the family into the depths of inescapable terror. This isn't a great horror but it's decent enough. Solid cast of actors, with tension throughout. Most of the underwater cinematography was good, which made it look real unlike other movies I have seen recently. Good for someone who wants a mindless horror flick to watch. It was not scary or frightening, and a bit dull at times. But there was alot of hype surrounding this when it was first released, it does not live up to that hype. #nightswim #decent #tension #horrorreviewers #horrorreviewer #horrorreview #horrorreviewpage #moviereviewsblog #moviereview #moviereviews #moviereviewer #underwater #cinematography #hype #horrorfilm #horrorgeek #horrorstories

The two leading actors have good chemistry in this film, which adds a certain watchability to it. Despite this, the film follows a very basic plot structure, lacking any significant surprises or innovations. It fails to offer any fresh or intriguing perspectives on its premise. While it may hold some appeal for fans of the genre, it doesn’t quite reach the level of engagement or originality needed to leave a lasting impression. The Idea of You is now on Prime Video. Movies 2024 - Problemista (2024; directed by Julio Torres) 🌮🌮🌮🌮 (4 tacos) Did not expect to end up liking this as much as I did! Problemista is an absurd, sometimes uncomfortably so, but pointed and ultimately touching comedy about creative types, immigration, living up to your potential, standing up for yourself, and connecting with someone who gets you. Sure, there are some moments here and there that feel like the weirdness is amped up just for the sake of being weird, but the heart of the story and the little threads of humor make it all come together nicely. A charmingly bizarre movie that once it clicks (or once the viewer gets the wavelength) it is impossible to not smile at. Julio Torres is deliciously weird in the lead role. He is walking this man-child tightrope that somehow finds a really good balance. You may have to warm up to it, though. As the film began, I found myself questioning choices that Torres made with his character, from the bounce in his walk to the semi-glazed over look on his face. That doubt faded pretty quickly once I was able to latch on to the movie’s wavelength. I found myself fully locked into Torres’s performance and hoping the movie would never end. I felt similar with Tilda Swinton. As we’re introduced to her character, she is overbearing and exaggeratedly grating. We ride that wave for awhile until something about her character becomes charming, too. There’s something about these two characters and their place in the world at large and each other’s universe that make them enthralling. I would like to think most audiences will fall for this thing if they give it a chance. The movie plays for one more night in Sioux Falls, and so far, has played to small houses. I hope that more people make it out to see this tonight at the State Theatre at 7:15 PM before it leaves town. One moment. Once in a lifetime. Movie No. 25: 8 Mile Year: 2002 Genre: Drama Movie Rating: R My Rating: 9.5/10 Pre-Watch Facts: Lose Yourself won Eminem an Oscar for best original song in a motion picture. The title came from 8 Mile road, which was the street that Eminem originally lived on. The film follows Jimmy Smith Jr. (Eminem) who attempts to launch a career in hip hop, a music genre dominated by African Americans. Holy crap. Still trying to process how unbelievably incredible that was. Slim Shady is surprisingly a very good actor. The music from this was incredible and so was the dialogue. I tried not to lose myself during this movie. Alright that was bad. Roast me in the comments all you want. I feel like my life changed in some way after watching this. What a film. @eminem #8mile #eminem #loseyourself #brabbit #moviereviews #rapping #detroit #movies

Schoenbrun brilliantly uses nostalgia and fandom as a vehicle to explore the adolescent mind and it makes for one of the most unique and thoughtfully crafted coming-of-age films I’ve seen. It manages to be both devastating and empowering in the same breath- its ability to balance these two tones feels all too true to the teenage experience. 5/5 #reviews #review #film #films #filmreview #filmreviews #movie #moviereview #moviereviews #geosquickreviews #gqr #a24 #isawthetvglow #janeschoenbrun #justicesmith #brigettelundypaine

The Devil Wears Prada (2006): Is a workplace drama/comedy that has gone onto become so much more. The Devil Wears Prada delves into topics such as life, love, career & the hard decisions you need to make in order to accomplish your goals. The acting is great, but my stand outs are Stanley Tucci as our lead Andy’s “fairy godmother.” I also loved Emily Blunts character, she plays the jealous and judgmental workaholic co-worker. Meryl Streep played her part FABULOUSLY and is the boss we would all be terrified of and yet still want so badly to please. The costumes are stunning (except poor Andy’s beginning looks 🫤) The story is well written yet predictable. Overall it’s a really fun, sassy, fashion forward film that will leave you smiling. The Strangers Chapter 1. I didn't like the 2008 The Strangers, I didn't like it's sequel Prey At Night. Renny Harlin was announced as director for The Strangers Chapter 1, my interest happened, and hope that it is done right. And it is done right, plenty of style, the way a scene is filmed and framed involving the playing of a piano, one of the creepy images during this scene looks like it could be a painting, this part in the woods where two of the killers are framed in a way that is equal parts creepy and a love of the killers characters comes across, the jump scares are choreographed in a way that seems so confident, one of them early on is especially effective, a feeling of dread and hopelessness, when the characters are being hunted, the location of the woods, fog seems like a character itself, one of my fav scenes involving Madelaine Petsch's character Maya trying to hide under leaves. What adds to this in it's execution is, a scene hinting at the damage of the psyche, even making a situation a little difficult to watch, on purpose, which I am guessing will be gone into more detail in the sequels. When a shotgun gets used a few times, it's visceral. And a moment towards the end with the Pin up mask girl shows how insane she is in quite a disturbing moment. As far as the main couple is concerned, Madelaine Petsch brings a real vulnerability and likeability to her character, and I believed that she and Ryan (Froy Gutierrez) care for each other. They do have chemistry. Great use of Styx's "The Best Of Times" too. Really enjoyed this, and am excited for chapters 2 and 3. #rennyharlin #thestrangerschapterone #alanrcohen #alanfreedland #josedavidmontero #madelainepetsch #froygutierrez #brianbertino #horrorfilm #horror #filmreviews #film #moviereviews #lionsgate #lionsgatefilms #richardbrake #rachelshenton #gabrielbasso #emahorvath #matuslajcak #oliviakreutzova #letiziafabbri

Challengers: 94 What a treat. The performances are incredible, the direction so good and the score is electric. It’s hot, heavy and full of tension. The tennis sequences are gripping and the love triangle is so intriguing. The writing has some issues, but that doesn’t ruin it for me. 15 for Writing: 13 15 for Performances: 15 10 for Entertainment: 10 10 for Direction: 10 10 for Emotions: 10 5 for Cinematography: 5 5 for Score: 4 5 for Pacing: 5 15 for Technical: 12 5 for Rewatchability: 5 5 for Automatic: 5 . . . . . . . . . . #movie #movies #film #films #moviereview #moviereviews #filmreview #filmreviews #filmcritic #filmcriticism #challengers #challengersmovie #zendaya #joshoconnor #mikefaist #lucaguadagnino

"...It looks and feels like an old-fashioned and light-hearted family film but it ended up being much more than that...one of the most interesting family films I have seen in a long time." Hugh gives IF an A, check out the review either here on instagram or at pixelatedgeek.com! Repost @hughv302 Directed by John Krasinski, IF follows a young girl named Bea (Cailey Fleming), who has been going through a troubling experience in her life and unexpectedly gains the ability to see people’s imaginary friends (referred to as “IFs” for short) who have been abandoned by the kids they helped. Bea also discovers that her mysterious neighbor, Cal (Ryan Reynolds), has the same ability. Together they join forces to reunite the IFs with their former kids. John Krasinski has been proving himself as a great director, with his most recent work in the horror genre with A Quiet Place Parts 1 and 2. Now he is briefly stepping away from horror and trying something new with this film that on the surface appeared to be much lighter-toned and aimed primarily at families. It’s a big change of tone for Krasinski but honestly a welcome one as I believe every director has the right to expand and experiment when it comes to filmmaking. So I was definitely interested to see what this film would be like and I can honestly say after seeing it I found myself enjoying it more than I thought I would. It was not at all what I expected based on the trailers, so it ended up being a very pleasant and touching gem of a film that tugs at the heartstrings. It looks and feels like an old-fashioned and light-hearted family film but it ended up being much more than that. Krasinski tells a very emotional and surprisingly layered story with some great leads plus some very lovable imaginary friends that make this film one of the most interesting family films I have seen in a long time. Challengers (2024) 31% I guess the attempted draw of this #film is basically based on trying to prey on what some may perceive as taboo subjects. Such as a former Disney star ( #zendaya ) getting raunchy but if you've seen Euphoria you know this is nothing new. Also there is some gay kissing, which who cares ? It's just kissing. Then you have the love triangle or three way relationship or whatever you call it. All very shallow attempts to anchor your #movie with. Thus leaving me incredibly bored dispite some good directing and good acting. This film is just dull and uninteresting because it feels like it has no substance. #moviereviews #filmreviews

Serenity (2019): Is marketed as a Drama/Thriller film, but it’s more of a Drama/Sci-Fi film. It had been advertised as a Gone Girl type thriller but that is definitely not what we get. The twist is put in the middle of the film, so you feel like your watching 2 separate movies. It’s not great, but it’s worth at least one viewing.

Rating: 6.5/10 An okay show with some interesting concepts but could’ve been better. It was cool to see what the parasytes were all about and how there was an agency to deal with the creatures, there is a few good bits of lore like that and how they both operate. Can’t say it was overly interesting though and was a little dull at times. The CGI wasn’t the best too and the action scenes were pretty boring and stupid too. Characters weren’t good either, just a bit plain. I probably wouldn’t watch a second season of this - - #cinema #cinemalover #cinemalovers #review #reviews #filmreview #foryoupage #moviereview #moviereviews #movie #movies #movieaddict #moviebuff #moviegeek #reviewfilm #reviewfilms #film #filmcommunity #filmfeed #films #trending #cinephile #cinephilecommunity #fyp #explorepage #parasyte #parasytethegrey #netflix #korean #scifi

Rating: 9/10 Action packed bloody and brutal game! That is what this is basically and I love it. It is so much fun to brandish so many weapons and use them to slice, dice, explode and blast demons and monsters! The music too that was very metal hyped me up so much more. It’s just a fantastic game to sit back and enjoy rather than an all out story game. The story is there but I’d say it’s mostly action packed gameplay. The story is badass though getting to travel around and take people down and even go to hell. Rating: 9/10 ⚠️SPOILERS⚠️ The first half of this season was weaker than the second with having a few filler moments or just slower moments that never really picked up the main story. However it was really intriguing to see Mark reflect on himself and the events of season 1 and the mental health aspect of being a superhero is always interesting. Same with Omni-man too who does the same towards the end of the first half and you get to see him in a different light with an epic and shocking conclusion to that half. The second half of the show is much more tense and entertaining with it being absolutely brutal and crazy story moments. I really love Rex from this season too. He has become such a better character. More badass and more humanity/likeability to him. It really improves every character and adds to the lore of the universe ever so slowly building up to that war that seems to be coming. Amber was a better character too by far and her and Marks relationship was really compelling to watch play out as Mark struggles to hold a relationship and Amber struggles to have a life with Mark and balance her own, it goes pretty in depth and creates some amazing dialogue and discussions. The epic finale too that is shockingly brutal to watch play out and see Mark get hurt and those around him but also exploring multiversal characters which is always very cool. Can’t wait to see more and what Mark will be like next season and also impatiently waiting for Mark and Eve to get together - - #cinema #cinemalover #cinemalovers #review #reviews #filmreview #foryoupage #moviereview #moviereviews #movie #movies #movieaddict #moviebuff #moviegeek #reviewfilm #reviewfilms #film #filmcommunity #filmfeed #films #trending #cinephile #cinephilecommunity #fyp #explorepage #invincible #stevenyeun #omniman #atomeve #markgrayson

Guy Ritchie's movies are hit-or-miss for me. Some are really good while others leave me pretty disappointed. The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is luckily one of the good ones. It's not great, but I did have fun watching it. The movie is at its best when it focuses on the action and the banter between the characters. The action scenes are very good and are elevated by Christopher Benstead's impressive score. The dialogue is really fun and all the actors do a great job making their characters likable, mainly #henrycavill and #alanritchson . They're clearly having a lot of fun in these roles. Both of them deliver very funny performances. #eizagonzalez also stands out. I really liked the work she did here. The movie does fall short when it comes to the storytelling. #guyritchie goes for style over substance, which hurts it narratively. The script is weak which makes the story quite boring at times. It also doesn't provide much depth for the characters. The cast is doing a lot of the heavy lifting when it comes to making the characters work. Overall, Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare isn't one of Guy Ritchie's strongest films, but it does have enough to make it an enjoyable watch. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #moviereview #moviereviews #moviereviewer #reviews #review #filmreviews #filmreviewer #filmreview #cinema #cinephile #reaction #streaming #ministryofungentlemanlywarfare #actionmovies #action #henrygolding #alexpettyfer #herofiennestiffin #rorykinnear #movies #films #movielover #filmbuff #cinemalover #entertainment #caryelwes

“The Black Phone” is based on a short story by Joe Hill, who many may not realize is the son of Stephen King. Although the story isn’t rooted in real events, director Scott Derrickson drew inspiration from his own experiences. In an interview with news.com.au, Derrickson shared, “I grew up in a pretty violent area of north Denver. There was a lot of bullying, fighting, and kids getting hurt all the time. It was also just after Ted Bundy had come through Colorado, killing people, and right after the Manson murders.” Where to watch: Apple tv
