2020 Collection - CAMPFIRE NIGHTS -Got Wood?๐ In most of the Midwest in the US you can't take wood from one area to another. So you have to buy your firewood wherever you are camping. WHY? Because there is a invasive bug that lives in the logs. UGH! BUGS! This was a filler pattern for the collection and honestly not my favorite. It' took a long time to create and was frustrating trying to pick colors. That's always the hardest for me. What's the hardest thing for you when you are designing or illustrating?

2020 Collection - CAMPFIRE NIGHTS - Michigan isn't mountainous but it does have 'virgin' timberlines. Hartwick Pines is one area of Michigan that I would go camping as a child, as a university student and as an adult. There is a very endangered bird, the Kirkland warbler, that lives in these pines. When I was in university we were looking for them for a research project. The lead scientist had to stop for gas and when he got out he started shaking his head. We all got out and saw one of the endangered warblers stuck to the grill of the truck. It was the only one we saw that weekend. As kids, this place was the ultimate destination. Fudge and toys everywhere. A haunted house. Bikes. Horses. Other kids. Aside from a Starbucks, it really hasnโt changed. Hospitality students from all over the world come to work here. In a few short hours I met young professionals from Jamaica, South Africa, Botswana, Philippians, and Trinidad.
