5K progression in 1 Month. Prior to April I was just getting back into running. I was doing time intervals. April 15th I went for a 25 minute run (according to program) and just kept pushing myself a little more until 3.1 was clocked. Before April my last 5k was 2022 when I was training for a half I ended up missing due to injury and weight gain. I never thought I'd run again. One mile walk with Sassy as a warmup … and then I went for my run - I decided to run by heart rate to keep it in Zone 2 & easy until my last mile … last time I tried this I had to walk … a lot … but today I was able to run the entire time, my pace was slow but steady for the first 4 miles and then I picked up the pace for a fast finish for the final mile … 5 miles 🏃‍♀️ was just right today. Post Marathon parkrun. First run back after a few days off to recover from Edinburgh. 5 days off enough, especially after last year not being able to run at this time. Strathclyde park run today. Wasn't' going to original as it was pacer week. But after traveling quite a bit recently for runs this past month stayed local for this one. Also give me a good excuse to try the takumi sen 9 on a pacery run 😝. Feel like the pro 3 but will have a few runs to break them in. Also meet some insta squares and @scottishmarathongirl who had been running around for ages and finishing on a parkrun. Slow rebuild but I'm itching to get back to it after the buzz from Edinburgh. Thayi Mane is a residential children’s home based on a family model. The home is for children who are orphaned or victims of abuse. The organization strives to meet the physical, psychological, educational, emotional and spiritual needs of the children. Thayi Mane is housed in a small building in Mullur Village in the midst of a well established neighborhood. The children, in addition to being brought up as a family, are also taught civic values so that they can live amicably with the neighboring community. Thayi Mane, a children's home for orphan and destitute children was established in 2007. It provides a warm, safe, loving home to them where the children can grow up to be happy, well rounded individuals. To help simulate a family environment, house mothers reside and serve as substitute mothers for the children. At present they have 120 children residing in the home varying from ages 6 to 20. Their vision is to serve, love and uplift the less priviledged. Thayi Mane is recognized by the Women and Child Welfare department of Karnataka state government and they accept children of all faiths and provide all facilities free of cost. Kids from Thayi mane get trained with Runner's High and they participate in major events like Bangalore 10K challenge, Bangalore Marathon, Hyderabad Marathon, AnandaYana and many more. Full transparency: I was pretty disappointed in my race performance from Wednesday’s race, but I only have myself to blame. What runners and coaches say about consistency is critical when training for an event is the truth, and my inconsistency with training leading up to this track 5k proves that inconsistency may get you to cross the finish line, but your performance will suffer. But, rather than spiraling into a negative mindset and beating myself up, let’s do something more productive and examine what I can do better during my next race (which is next weekend…why do I do this to myself🤦🏾😂?!?!): 1.) Um, freaking train!!! Stay consistent AF!!! Duh.🤓 2.) Extend the distance of the “kick.” I tend to hold back until I see the last .10 of a 5k, then dig deep and push, but I know I can dig a little deeper and extend that kick a little bit longer to shave off a little more time.🙃 3.) Make sure I am having fun and not putting too much pressure on myself. I also get in my mind while racing and start negatively talking to myself. Racing can sometimes be very mental, so I need to ease up on calling myself “A little B word” and replace it with positive words and a mindset like “I am a bada$$ B word!”☺️See what I did there!💁🏾 I hope my takeaways from my not-so-great race performance can help others! And I am excited to apply what I learned from this race to the next one! 5月は合計302 KM でした👟 今日のトレーニングは ちょいキツいを引っ張る LT系の #5 KM走 🏃‍♀️ #たくプロ道場 メニューの 5 KPでの5 KM わたしの設定は キロ5 🖐️ 昨日スピードやったので 5:05、5:10でもokとも言われてましたが 逆に刺激が入ったのか、疲れもなく 良い感じで予定通り走れました。 5.01 KM 24:51 4:58/ KM 4:52 5:00 5:00 4:59 4:56 前後で、2.70 KM 3.02 KM走り 今日は、合計 10.73 KM🏃‍♀️ pic.1.2.3 着てるノースリーブは 2017に作った(もう7年前やん) FROGロゴをサイドに入れたやつ 当時お仕事した某ブランドに リスペクトを込め、うちもサイドに ロゴプリントしてもろた(笑) ちょっと着古した感あるけど やっぱり毎年着てしまう1着 #好きなんです . . 【振り返り】 初期段階とは言えスピード・インターバル、 ロング走も取り入れながら 月間300 KM走れたのは 我ながらなかなか良い内容です。 私は毎日ジョグ10 KMや ロング走は、無心でできるし ずっとそれがマイメニューで 逆に、グッと速い出力で走る系が 昔から苦手でしたが (どうカラダを動かしたら良いか わからなくなる、、笑) 得意な月間走行距離とロング走を 伸ばし続けても、天井が見えてしまい… 苦手に取り組めば、伸び代がある との、たくプロアドバイスがずっと頭にあり ちょうど、たくプロ道場メニューの 自分のちょうど良い負荷でやる トレーニング方法に合流できたので 良い感じで、取り組めております☺︎ 目標サブ35だから 設定キロ○で走る みたいな、よくある練習じゃなく 今の自分から育てていくやり方、たくプロ流 凄いな、、、と感じてます。 6月暑さと雨もあるのですが このままの感じで、行きたいと思います。 #月間走行距離 5月 302KM / 280 KM 🌧️ 21°c 76% 3m/s 🏃‍♀️2024年走ります🏃‍♂️ #新潟シティマラソン 2024.10.13 #名古屋ウィメンズマラソン 2025

The first 3, As I said last week and pointed out to me I booked 3 marathons before running 1 and all in the space of 6 months. Each has been different, each have had their ups and downs. Firenze, was nearly derailed by cancelled flights. But we got there. Expo experience, bag drop in easy reach of the start, well layout route, plenty of support from the locals, locally designed medal and pacers, no tracker but small city marathon doesn't need it. Perfect weather for a winter marathon.Not a bad moment to be had. Highly recommend. Going back for my 10th marathon to celebrate. Manchester, was a tough day, and it shows. Again well laid out route, military operation on getting to the bag drop, getting to the pens, pacers on route, tracker for people to follow, support on route. Water station with drop zones for rubbish. Easy to park and plenty of transport options for getting around. Going back to tackle the demons next year (unless lucky on London Ballot) Edinburgh, weather aside, a good day, love the support on the course. This is where it changes from the rest. It's a point to point, bags are dropped off at the finish not covered, in rain or shine. Running round cones on a marathon course isn't a good time and a small section of gravel isn't necessary. No pacers or tracker. The finish area is poorly set up, and running out of medals is unacceptable. Transport is not thought of to get back into the city/parking areas. The picture of the rubbish left behind is bad. Will run it again at some point but in the near future Edinburgh has so much potential to be Scotland's big race to bring the big names to run it and sponsors to bring it in line with Manchester. Next up is Baxters Loch Ness Marathon in September, only 4 months away. Looks like a slightly hilly one this time but a nice part of the country to run in.

I started the half term week with a 5k steady run on Tuesday whilst the kids attended a class….. 🫠Monday…I had the worst DOMs I have felt in years following an intense leg day last Saturday, plus an 8 mile run on Sunday. I realised, I am missing lots of exercises on my HIIT leg days😅!! 🏃🏾‍♀️Today was running club and I thought I’d feel much stronger based on having 8+ hrs sleep every night, since Sunday, so I had to remind myself that my muscles are still rebuilding, following my severe DOMs 😂!! 🌟 It’s so easy to be hard on ourselves and I know it’s just working out but it is a great reminder to acknowledge all the things we do (as if they were a walk in the park) and put some value and appreciation on them!! Joydens Wood 5k Summer Series #1 Great event put on by Dartford Road Runners! Enjoyed pushing hard around one of my favourite training locations. Even if they made the course rather savage 🥵 Whilst I wrote up a summer training & racing plan, I’ve ended up finding myself a tad lost as to where I want to focus my running efforts. The Power of Recovery All too often we focus on getting ‘more’ done Trying to fit just a little more into our already busy days Wondering why we come up short and frustrated with our performance when we try so hard It’s a cliché but LESS IS OFTEN MORE Let me explain….. My workouts and those of my clients get better when we focus on recovery – too many people are drip feeding fatigue into their bodies and their performance suffers, when taking a step back and employing some rest & recovery techniques would push their progress forward with less time spent training. Co-incidentally my productivity increased when I scheduled breaks into my working day. And at the macro level my entire life got better when I optimized my sleep routine because this underpins everything you do…..literally EVERYTHING! So…..to improve your productivity in any area you should first look to prioritise your rest & recovery. Teacher life. The summer schedule is working itself out. I find that I can wake up later - but I must remain focused on getting out early enough to so I don’t miss the strike when the iron is hot. The joy of today- was realizing that I was created (we all were) to be active and grow in this way. It’s like we look for some person we aren’t- when it was inside of us the whole time. It. Just takes the faith to believe it before you have the eyes to see it truly. I’m so grateful that the Lord is walking me (running me) through this journey. I’m learning so much about His character by learning the scope of who I am and what I’m capable of in Him when I gave Him my fears and doubts , walking in obedience and trusting what He says about me. You’re in there. You were there the whole time.
