May 6-12 marks Nurses Appreciation Week, and I believe that warrants some time to express gratitude for the dedicated nurses who play a vital role in our society. Providing care to individuals facing illness or injury is undoubtedly a demanding responsibility, but the perseverance and strength that nurses use to treat and heal is truly a blessing to the patients. Having personally encountered the compassionate care of nurses during the challenging times of a mental health crisis in the hospital, I am deeply appreciative of their unwavering commitment and empathy.
Nurses have the special ability to offer support and understanding, qualities that are indispensable in their profession. Their tireless dedication to helping others means that nurses are making a meaningful impact and healing others in tough times. Their genuine concern for the well-being of other people underscores their genuine passion for their job, which is something we are lucky to have. This week serves as an opportunity to acknowledge the invaluable contributions of nurses and express gratitude for their selfless service. Though they may not remember every encounter or every patient they’ve cared for, their impact is lasting and profound. I am forever in debt to nurses for rescuing me, encouraging me, inspiring me, and even making me laugh in the most difficult times. They do not care how many cups of coffee I had at midnight while watching the TV I could barely see. They made us more coffee, changed the channel to what we wanted to watch, took us to the gym to play some ball, let me outside in the rain and checked in on me throughout points in the day and night to make sure I was comfortable. So thank you nurses. Thank you for changing my life and the lives of so many. You have made such a positive difference. Happy Nurses Appreciation Week! 🩺❤️
•
•
•
#nurses #nursing #hospital #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #mindfulness #helping #care #nurseappreciationweek #thankful #grateful #genuine #supportive #lifechanging #medicine #doctors #laughing #inspiration #motivation #life #crisis #health #happiness #growth #heroes #saviors #leadership #positivity
