The day after GP Eco Struct, won by Chiara Consonni, it was the turn of Trofee Maarten Wynants, another fully flat race, suited for sprinters! The first attack was launched into lap 4 of 11 by Henrietta Colborne, she was kept very close for quite long and 15km later she was joined by Florien Bolks; their advantage over the peloton rose, untile they reached 1'35" at 33km to go, then peloton started to speed up, but it wasn't easy to catch the attackers, who still had a small margin with 5km to go! At -3km from the finish line break was caught, with sprinters' trains settled for a mass finish. As expected, the race ended in a compact bunch sprint with Chiara Consonni, who, as the big favourite, went on to win after the impeccable work of her teammates, and this was demonstrated by the fact that there were three UAE athletes in the top 10.
