When I told my friend who is in her 50’s the other day “what’s the big deal about turning #10years in marriage, why don’t the number 7 or 12 get the same due? “ She told me “love, congratulations you turned 10, not many of your generation get to the number 10 these days, so shut down that pessimism and cherish your togetherness.” To be honest, there has been so many breaking points these 10 years that we thought that’s it, we are gonna give up on each other. Thanks to my unpaid marriage counsellors @hanikagreenparkdental and @artsngreens who has seen us through these times. We got married after a couple of month into dating when my #southindian parents put a gun on his head and said “take her or leave her” Then we thought yay, freedom finally - we are gonna party and travel and enjoy life, god gave us a child - to two humans who weren’t good with babies, when our friends were still partying. Then we thought yay now we are a happy family of three and viola the universe gave us two #autoimmune conditions- which took both of us to the edge of the cliff. It’s not just you who suffer the pain, you take your family down too often with it. And when the dust of that settled down, the universe asked us to pack our comfortable life into boxes and start afresh in Bahrain which I hated then but now think was a blessing in disguise. Oh and then when we settled down in Bahrain the mighty covid struck us down and we were forced to be with each other 24 hours every single day - Lordy Lord I’m glad we both didn’t murder each other yet. We don’t know what’s ahead. We don’t even know how come we are still together. But we are and we laugh over it. I love him and I hope it’s the other way round too! #wesurvived10years

14 years ago, i met few guys while accompanying my housemate since she wanted to pass some items to the guys' housemate... Few days after, one of the guy was asking for my no. in which my housemate happily passed it to him! 😑😑😑 However, it took him 3 days after that to call me!😒😒😒 We immediately 'clicked' but only met again few months after that since i was in kl while he was in johor... We got along alright n becoming a very good friend. He was 1 of the nicest n polite guy i ever met... When i was about to graduate, i got oversea's job offer n told him about it. Not long after that, he proposed... At first, i was shocked! Punah harapan nak tackle mat saleh! 😜😜😜 But, after thinking thorougly n asking for guidance, i knew deep in my heart that he is the one that i can rely on... He was the missing puzzle that i was looking for... 3rd raya 2005, we got engaged n i flew to uk a week after that... N 10 yrs ago, on this very date, 07.07.07, marked the start of our journey as husband n wife... I've to admit, it was a struggle at 1st as we didn't know each other that much. For example, i didn't know his family n he even struggled to remember my siblings' name! (I have 6 btothers n 1 sister btw) 😕😕😕 But since we believe marriage takes 2 to tango, we give it a chance... nope, we give it many chances... we acknowledge each other flaws n we work on the strength...
