WE HAD SO MUCH FUN! Our end of the 2023-2024 year culminated with our Annual Luncheon, Speaker & Shopping event on Wednesday, May 8 at the Weston Golf Club, and it was an occasion to remember! Weston Table Owner Dianne O’Connor, WCL member and Weston resident, spoke about the extraordinary business she built - from a Weston Center storefront to a multi-million dollar online enterprise! Not only this but she raffled off a $100 gift card and brought hundreds of items from Weston Table, creating a shopping extravaganza! 🥳 The meeting also served as a passing of the baton from Co-Presidents Leslye Fligor and Colleen Kettle, who have served as such since 2022, to new President Leslie Stonestreet and Vice President Mary Ann Riordan. The new Board was also announced. Congratulations to all! 🥳 The venue was beautiful, the tables were filled with framed pictures of our fabulous events from the year, the food was delicious, and the company was outstanding! We were thrilled and honored to participate in yesterday’s Class of 2023 Senior Awards Ceremony at the Weston High School. Having recently celebrated our 104th anniversary, the WCL has been awarding scholarships to graduating Weston seniors since 1930. Throughout the past 93 years, our scholarship program has remained central to our mission of providing social, philanthropic and educational benefits to the Weston Community. 💫 On behalf of the WCL, Katie Phaneuf, our Scholarship Chair, announced this year’s overall donation of $22,000 for scholarship and merit-based awards.
