Today, the Santa Cruz Public Works Department hosted a โTouch a Truckโ event where the different departments that make up Public Works brought some of their trucks and equipment and showed them off. It was geared toward kids, but even big kids like myself had fun! I got to sit in the drivers seat of my favorite fire truck, ladder truck 3170, and I also checked out the cityโs second all electric garbage truck. They had a fork lift rodeo where city employees tested out their skills and it was right next to the remote controlled fork lifts that kids were driving. The photo of the woman in the excavator is Christina, who organized the event and had a good sense humor by posing for me.
