She is AMAZING and to me that is all that matters, but sometimes parenting a child with special educational needs really is extremely difficult and especially at times like today, because it makes you feel like a burden on others and even though we shouldn’t, we do worry about what people must think and say 💔 All I really wanted her to be able to do today was stand up and take part, even just for a few seconds and I really thought it was going to happen because her progress over the past few months has been brilliant, but unfortunately it just wasn’t meant to be. Instead I had to stand and watch her be so upset and not be able to comfort her, while trying my best to smile at her, to catch her eye to wave to her and do anything possible to try and make it better from where I was standing, all while hiding that my heart was literally breaking inside. I probably went there expecting too much, but as her Dad and number one fan, I really do believe in her. So, instead of being all down and continuing to feel like we are a burden, I am going to pick myself up, look at this wonderful smile and keep going. We’ve come so far already and even though her journey is going to be different to the norm (whatever that is), we are going to get there and I just know that one day I will get to give her the standing ovation that she deserves 💖 #ParentingJourney #parentinglife #senparents #dreambelieveachieve #loveyouforever #prouddad #thebestdaughterever
