Do you know why we say, I'm going to DO my devotions over saying I'm going going to READ my devotions Or I'm going to LISTEN to my devotions ? Because it's not about having 5 minutes with God as my latest devotional book is somewhat titled. It's about getting in His Word for 5 minutes in order to HEAR Him & apply His Word to our hearts & lives so others may see Him in us & seek Him over the ways of this world. In DOING our devotions we are to be APPLYING that to our lives. It's an action word & it means to take action for Christ. Not to just learn a lesson & go about our day. James 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. #foodforthought #devotionals #walkingwithGod #StandForChrist This devotional isn't a bad one. I refer to KJV when reading any devotional though. Other translations make me feel wrong. I believe that to be the Holy Spirit talking to me.

Hello encounter church! This Saturday our church is participating in an event called March for Jesus. To start of the March everyone will meet at Adult and Teen Challenge Ohio Valley. The doors will open at 8:30am and the March will promptly start at 10am. The March will end at Wick park with a time of worship and prayer. Such a blessing to be with our grandkids and kids in Atlanta this weekend! Watching the girls play softball Friday and Saturday! Congrats to Ela’s home run and Piper’s announcement “making the All Stars” Sunday the girls were baptized at their church and we celebrate their bold stand for Jesus Christ! God is good. Beloved seekers of truth, In today’s Gospel reading, Jesus teaches us about love and loyalty in the face of betrayal and adversity. He speaks of the relationship between a servant and his master, emphasizing the humility and obedience required of disciples. Jesus knew that one of his own would betray him, yet he demonstrated unwavering love and loyalty to all his disciples, even to the one who would betray him. Despite the impending betrayal, Jesus extended friendship and trust to Judas, exemplifying the depth of his love and faithfulness. As followers of Christ, we are called to emulate his love and loyalty, even in the face of adversity. Just as Jesus accepted his disciples, so too are we called to accept and stand for him, regardless of the challenges we may face. In the words of Saint Augustine, let us seek to know God, love him, and serve him with all our hearts, finding perfect freedom in his service. See!!!! It is possible!!!! No more excuses!! The children of Israel have been in captivity in a heathen land for a while now! According to the dates, this is 519 BC. They went into captivity in 586 BC. So about 67 years! They were taken captive by Nebuchadnezzar and the Babylonians, and now are under the control of Darius and the Medes and Persians!! Ezra is getting ready for the Passover and we find this verse in Ezra 6!! He says the children that came out of the captivity, those that had separated themselves from the filthiness of the heathen!! They were immersed in Babylonian/Persian culture…….. but still stood for right???? They didn’t cave to those around them???? You see, it is possible!! Now, you cannot do it on your own, I’ll give you that!! If your relationship with God is non existent, you’re toast!! You must develop that relationship!! He is the only one that can carry you through!! But if that relationship is maintained and growing, you can make it!! You can stand in spite of the world around you!! But you must choose!! No one is forcing us to cave to the ways of the world!! Oh, there may be pressure!! There may be some unseen draw and force that is pulling us toward it, but we make a conscious decision as to what we will pursue!! Christ or the world!!!!
