Started great, running into @ziggypw, @mrjamesbrown & @_zzz0nked_ all before . @aeuofficial should have been here years ago & showed exactly why with a set worthy of kicking off any festival. I managed to catch the end of @thedangeroussummer set because even just hearing 2 songs is still worth it when the band is that good. Back over for @caskets_band who had some mic volume/quality issues so I struggled to hear the vocals unfortunately. Caught the end of @asdecemberfalls first time playing on Main Stage, 6 years on from seeing them open the Breakthrough Stage at Slam Dunk, it was so nice to see them graduate to main stage & they showed that they deserved their spot. @redjumpsuit are another band whos sound quality can be hit or miss, but not here as they sounded INCREDIBLE from start to finish, one of the highlights of the whole weekend, great set. @headautomaticaofficial set was jazzier than I expected, but still very enjoyable. At this point in the day I have no further videos to show of the other 11 bands I saw because my phone got pickpocketed during Set It Off, spent the rest of the day trying to figure out how Id solve that problem for day 2 & beyond, but had a great time still watching @therejects, @boyslikegirls & @wethekings for the first times which I was absolutely buzzing about. @againstthecurrent & @bobbyvylan had great first time festival sets & @waterparks might have had my favourite set of the whole weekend. The Pop Punk gods granted me a miracle & somehow got my phone back for @youmeatsixofficial headline set. 25 & 26.05.2024 - I go to Slam Dunk every year and unironically call these silly fields my house every time someone asks what I'm doing here, so I was always going to be here, but even more so with the promise of @thewonderyearsband making me feel on top of the world and ripping my heart straight out of my chest all at once. Seeing TWY live is a safe corner of the universe, the loveliest mates fest, finding joy and comfort in the sometimes saddest songs. I wish I could be the version of myself I am when this band is in the vicinity all the damn time. (Maybe minus the awful singing.) This year was no exception, finding joy in being covered in mud and singing along with my friends and crowdsurfing and forcing friendship bracelets in people's hands and even some sort of odd comfort in crying. Here's to manifesting a 10 year anniversary something for my favourite album, and here's to manifesting another 20 year anniversary something for the band I believe is one of the best bands in the world. PS: Believe me- I regretted as soon as I overheard myself, but take this post as my most heartfelt apology for the dying goat vocals during Cigarettes & Saints in Leeds. (This goes out to literally every single person in the field but even more so to anyone within a meter radius. You may be entitled to financial compensation.)

Just some pesky bands loudly interrupting our conversation 😂 The clash that hurt was @its_r_o_r_y and @setitoff but we'd decided Røry was a must see before the set times came out and nothing was shaking that. Rory was excellent and only caused a small amount of public crying! Also the person selling Røry merch was lovely, and helpful and the merch going to size 4xl was a nice inclusive surprise.
