Last 10k race of the year completed at Blackburn with @runthroughuk . This is my 3rd 10k race this year since I started to get into running early this year. Managed to stay upright despite some slippy surfaces through the town centre. Best of all, I got the PB I'd been wanting when I did the Wigan 10k in September, but I just couldn't reach it then as the heat got me. ... Todays result, 59 minutes and 39 seconds. 🥇Wigan 10k 2023, done! That was one of the hottest races ever! Felt optimistic on the drive to Wigan. It was 17 C and foggy. By the time the race started, it was 23 C and cracking the flags. Regretted straightening my hair! Should have kept it curly! Anyhow, what Wigan lacked in hills, it made up for with the heat. Must practice running at hot parts of the day next year! Got a PB, 1 hour, 2 minutes, and 9 seconds!
