Had the opportunity to paint up a fibreglass Sammy the Seal statue for the Chepstow Festival of Arts earlier this year. New experience for me! He's had a brief stint in the public eye but hopefully he'll make it on to the Seal Trail in the future. Used foil, fibreglass compound and sandfiller for the teeth and scales, spray paints for the basecolours, acrylics for the details, and chucked a load of varnish on the whole thing at the end. . Description for the event: The King of the Lizards, the Chomper of Chepstow, the Tyrannosealus Rex! Previously thought to be extinct, it turns out he was just shy. Morning all! Today we are joined by the fabulous Ruby who we first had in store with us for her work experience two years ago - how time has flown! Today she starts as our Saturday Staff. We have always been so proud of her and even more so this week at the launch of the Seal Art Trail on Selsey which promotes the exploration of Selsey, it’s culture, heritage and natural habitats. She and a fellow student designed the Remembrance Seal at East Beach … and got to meet Brian May … we hope to get to see it soon!

Beautiful two days in Kolovesi national park area. We visited Nahkiaissalo trail and went paddling from the Kirkkoranta to Ukonvuori rock painting. Magical places. It was an exceptionally warm and sunny weekend, nice to go outdoors and enjoy the scenery. Got good hints to visit nice places from @olocentre where we stayed overnight.
