Do you find it challenging getting yourself ready for a big presentation? One of the biggest gifts you can give yourself before a high stakes presentation is taking time to center yourself and get in the zone before you get onto the stage. 1. Strike a power pose, move around trying different poses. 2. Listen to music that inspires you. 3. Find a quiet space to center your nervous system. Breathing in for 4 counts, hold for 6 counts and then breathe out nice and slowly for 8. Do this a few times to help lower your adrenalin and cortisol. 4. Jump around to pump up your energy and don't be afraid to create the vibe you want to have on stage. Wow wow wow! What a week! Project 2 complete ✅ This week we were working on our pitching and presenting skills. We started in London last week at @bdclondon with our workshop with Becs in which we learnt some core skills to what makes a good pitch and how to keep the audience engaged. We have had 6 days to create a presentation based on PechaKucha consisting of 20 slides x 20 seconds per slide. Meet our trophy aptly named - Six Degrees, a nod to the first Social Media platform in (1997). The platform was based on “six degrees of separation,” which provides the thought that everyone is connected with no more than six degrees of separation. It enabled users to upload a profile and make friends with other users. It garnered 3.5 million users. A significant milestone considering the era in which the social media site existed. This was the dawn of internet availability to the masses, the perfect opportunity for my 16 year old self to get in there and trial this new fascinating opportunity. This was way back when internet was dial up. Most people owned a home phone and us teenagers were beginning to try the freedom of a mobile phone,. Pre paid’ though so usually 1 week out of the month we could not use our phone as we were waiting for the money to get access to our phone which was agonising😩😬🥴. Remember that dial up sound? 😼 🤷♀️☎️ Without it, without a home phone, there was no internet access. None, zip, nadda. We also emplyed our own creative email address such as MusiCat21😼😼. Client testimonials like this post from a Product Manager at one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies, case studies, quotes, and stories are all examples of someone using social proof to influence.
