La ragazza di Teheran di Marjan Kamali Ho letto questo libro perché prometteva di essere nello stile di Hosseini, scrittore che adoro e che mi ha fatto piangere con tutti i suoi libri. Purtroppo però questo non si è rivelato bello come le attese. Il romanzo racconta una storia d’amore che si intreccia ai disordini politici avvenuti a Teheran negli anni cinquanta. Un ragazzo e una ragazza che si innamorano e si perdono a causa del volere altrui e che si ritrovano, ormai anziani, negli USA dove entrambi sono emigrati. Purtroppo quello che manca a questo romanzo è la storia, la rivoluzione degli anni cinquanta non è ben approfondita e la cacciata dello Scià solo accennata. Il cambiamento culturale verso il fondamentalismo islamico e la privazione della libertà delle donne non viene quasi nominato. Ξεκινάμε! 🗣️Η χώρα από πολύ παλιά ονομαζόταν #Αρυανάμ που σημαίνει «γη των Αρίων» Για το πως η λέξη «Άριος» κατάντησε εκεί που κατάντησε είναι μια μεγάλη και θλιβερή ιστορία που θα την πούμε σε άλλο επεισόδιο. 🇬🇷 Για την ονομασία #Περσία ευθύνονται οι #Έλληνες που έβλεπαν τα γιουρούσια του Δαρείου και του Ξέρξη να ξεκινούν από την πόλη Παρς, το άλφα δεν τους άρεσε, το έκαναν έψιλον και κάπως έτσι η Παρς έγινε Περς και μετά #Περσέπολις και οι οχτροί έγιναν Πέρσες. 🧑🏻🦰Μετά μπήκε στην πόλη ο Μέγας Αλέξανδρος που την έκανε καλοκαιρινή όταν, από άγνωστη αιτία, μια πυρκαγιά την κατέστρεψε ολοσχερώς. 🕌Κι αν οι Έλληνες φταίνε για την ονομασία του κράτους, οι Άραβες φταίνε για την ονομασία της γλώσσας. 🇮🇷Αυτούς τους ενοχλούσε το πι κι έτσι η Παρς έγινε Φαρς, οι Πέρσες έγιναν Φάρσες (οου γιες, ακούγεται σαν φάρσα!) και η περσική γλώσσα έγινε #φαρσί. ☪️Οι δε Οθωμανοί τον μεσαίωνα όποιον άκουγαν να μιλάει τα φαρσί τον θεωρούσαν σπουδαγμένο γι’ αυτό και η φράση «μιλάω φαρσί» έφτασε να σημαίνει ότι κάποιος μιλάει άπταιστα μια ξένη γλώσσα. 👳♀️Άρα μπορούμε να πούμε με σιγουριά ότι όποιος μιλούσε φαρσί τα περσικά, στην ουσία μιλούσε περσικά τα περσικά! 🇹🇷Οι Τούρκοι είναι υπεύθυνοι για το περίφημο ατζέμ πιλάφ (acem pilav), μια παραδοσιακή περσική συνταγή με αρνί και ρύζι μιας και Ατζέμ έλεγαν τους Πέρσες και πιλάφ… ξέρετε. 🍚Σύντομα το περσικό πιλάφι μαγειρεμένο μέσα στο ζουμί του αρνιού έγινε βάιραλ στο You tube και Νο1 φαγητό στο Ιράν! 🇮🇷 Στο Ιράν; Τ΄ είν’ τούτο πάλι; 😵💫Οι Έλληνες τους έλεγαν Πέρσες, οι Τούρκοι Ατζέμ, οι Άραβες Φάρσες, αυτοί να μην έχουν μια γνώμη για την χώρα τους; 🕋Το 1935 ο Σάχης Ρεζά Παχλαβί απαίτησε (και δικαιώθηκε) η χώρα του να ονομάζεται #Ιράν από την Αρυανάμ, τη γη των Αρίων. In the belief of Kashmiri people in the Khorasan Province, there is a creature called "Gelbini", literally meaning, mud nose. Gelbinis are invisible creatures that go along rivers and streams in the middle of the night and seek mud, to make noses for themselves. After doing so, for the purpose of being exact, they come to the village and seek a sleeping human to compare their nose to theirs. Once they find a human they like the shape of the nose of, they lay on them putting their nose against theirs, creating an opposite version of the human's nose. It is believed that if the person wakes up at this time, they will suffer from sleep paralysis. It is said that if they could overcome the paralysis and grab the creature's nose, Gelbini would ask them a question. ~Ataturk, Fall of The Ottoman Empire~ During Sabbatai Zevi's era (1626-1676), a young Jewish orphan named Sarah was found by Christians and sent to an orphanage to be cared for. A pillar of fire. A carpet of scarlet anemones. Many strong symbols to contemplate in these last pages of A l'Ombre as Françoise pins the curtains in the window to block out the light. Stunning ones. « Françoise fastened them every night, pins which she alone knew how to unfasten... she never succeeded in making them meet exactly, the darkness was not complete, and they allowed to spill over the carpet as it were a scarlet shower of anemone-petals, among which I could not resist the temptation to plunge my bare feet for a moment. And on the wall which faced the window and so was partially lighted, a cylinder of gold with no visible support was placed vertically and moved slowly along like the pillar of fire which went before the Hebrews in the desert. » Such images are suggestive of Exodus. Biblical, the journey in the Wilderness, Moses leading his people through the desert. Perhaps the Narrator as guide/ pillar leading the protagonist through... Interesting that the pillar is of gold, not of fire, suggesting an amalgam of Blblical and Byzantine imagery- which I’ll speak to in the next post. As to the evocative image of bare feet on a carpet of anemones? Not sure. In Christian symbolism, the anemone’s red petals represent the spilled blood of Christ. Last, the etymology of Anemone: Daughter of the wind i.e. ‘the delicate flowers are blown open by the wind, which in turn blows away the dead petals as well.’ A Windflower. It reminds me of the ‘single poppy hoisting upon its slender rigging and holding against the breeze its scarlet ensign’ in Swann’s Way, right before the Vinteuil window scene. I sense a revised articulation of the protagonist’s journey to come; there’s an Exodus (from Balbec), a Persian vibe (the gold), Christian symbolism (the anemone’s red petals representing his blood.)
