S C E N T M A G I C K 🕯️✨ 💜SORCERESS SCHOOL💜 Scents & creating a sensorial experience are a really important part of my day. I often set the tone for my day, first thing in the morning, using scent magick. When I first started out on this path, I knew that I loved using scents & candles in creating the right ambiance for my practice, I have always naturally been drawn towards creating sensorial experiences, even within my fashion design work, but I did wonder how exactly scents worked within magickal practice. If, like me, you were ever wondering the same, then keep reading. Incense for example is used in many spiritual practices & this is often an offering to gods, goddesses, spirits & higher beings. However, through using incense, scented candles & oils myself, I realised how exactly the magick is made. To understand this better, let’s talk about scent memory- I’m sure you’ve all experienced that moment when a scent has the ability to transport you to another time & place? For example, the smell of your favourite dish being cooked reminds you of a grandparent preparing a meal for you, or a specific perfume transporting you to a special moment with a loved one, or even the scent of sun cream taking you back to your favourite beach holiday in summer? Yes, well if you know what I’m talking about then you understand the powerful magick of scents. Scents not only have the ability to transport you back to a specific memory, but also the ability to shift your state. Notice how the scent of lavender has a instant calming effect, the homely smell of coffee or freshly baked bread, or how mint or citrus have a refreshing & awakening boost? Well, you can utilise this power of scents, to shift your state in your daily life or during magickal practice, to better align your energy with the outcome you are trying to achieve! This is exactly how my magickal oils work & I love using them in my daily life, as well as in my rituals.
