He requested the execution by guillotine of about 2,000 people inclusive of Marie-Antoinette, and even leaders of the Revolution such as Robespierre and Danton. Paris Gems… Save this post if you’re going to Paris anytime soon. Typed this up for a friend seeing T.S. there this weekend and here are some gems I highly recommend: @wildandthemoon — The one in the Charlot. This is my favorite all-organic juice shop ever. There are so many delicious plant-based goodies, smoothies, and bowls, and it’s just a vibe in there with loads of plants! Burgers — amazing in so many places. Make sure you get one, period! Monop’ beauty — like the perfect mini-mart for great European cosmetics! You can get all the best things there! I love the Montemarte one! Monoprix is like Target, but better, and it’s all over the city! They have great fashion pieces and toiletries. I highly recommend picking up Le Rosee Toothpaste; it’s incredible. I order it all the time to America because it’s the best!! The last windmill in Paris from the Moulin Rouge era is a must-see, and the whole area is adorable. You’ll want to take the metro up because it’s a very long walk from where you are. Versaille—go, but go early, like the first ticket call. Absolutely hit up this museum shop; it’s so good. Get the Jardin soap; it smells like heaven. When walking back to the train, stop by the cute vintage shops. The Lourve—go, but again, go early, right when they open. You need tickets to get in! Once you’re inside and past security, head right to the Mona Lisa; otherwise, it gets busy. Little tip: if you don’t want to go through the long line by the pyramid, there is an entrance right next to Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel that doesn’t get as much traffic. There are little shops down that way, too! PNY Burgers — They have a couple of locations around the city; the burgers here are quite good and I believe they almost animal fry the fries! Right across the street from Le Syndicat if you get drinks there! Brasserie Bellanger—You can’t go wrong with a Brasserie, but this one in the 10th is perfect. If you find your way up there, they have great steak frites and other bites! Era 1874 em Paris, quando 31 artistas organizaram uma exposição que marcou a História da Arte. O grupo, até então esnobado pelo circuito oficial, marcou o início do movimento impressionista. Em celebração aos 150 anos do feito, o Musée d’Orsay organizou a mostra “Paris 1874: Inventando o Impressionismo”. Ela faz um balanço das circunstâncias que levaram estes artistas a reunirem-se para exporem juntos. Foram selecionados 130 trabalhos de Alfred Sisley, Paul Cézanne, Camille Pissarro, Édouard Manet, Claude Monet e Pierre-Auguste Renoir para recriar a mostra original. Você sabia que o nome do movimento surgiu da obra “Impressão, Nascer do Sol”, de Monet? O crítico de arte Louis Leroy atribuiu o termo ao quadro como forma de menosprezá-lo, dizendo que “não passava de uma impressão”, mas a ofensa acabou identificando o grupo de artistas. A exposição fica em cartaz até 14 de julho e depois será apresentada na National Gallery of Art, em Washington, a partir de 8 de setembro de 2024. Além do Musée d’Orsay, que tem a maior coleção de pinturas do impressionismo, Paris oferece outras oportunidades para conferir as obras do movimento: 🎨 Musée de l’Orangerie: a “casa” das Ninfeias de Monet, uma das obras mais reconhecidas do artista. Pick a wing, then pick your must-see items in that wing and enjoy them at a leisurely pace. Take your time, soak it all in. Come back another day to see another wing 😉 2. Go early. It gets crowded as the day goes on. Or go late, near to closing time. The Louvre is open late, until 9 pm, on Fridays. 3. Get the audio guide or a guided tour. They add so much context and depth to what you're seeing.

Set up in 1932 and now run by the family's 3rd generation, New York born @apolloniapoilane, this small chain has all the charm of a traditional boulangerie, all while maintaining a modern feel. A lot of focus on sourdough bread, but let's see about the croissants 😏 🥐 Flavour: a beautiful croissant, so aesthetic and delicious, very close to a 5/5 but just a little on the dry side for me, so 4/5 🥐 Affordability: keeping it super french here, this will only set you back €1.40 so 5/5 🥐 Je ne sais quoi: tucked away in a little Marais street, I loved how quiet and peaceful this space was, and the variety of products!
