Here is my recreation of an antique azulejo tile that I spotted @palaciofronteira . It is located on the back wall of the palace facing the garden as you enter through the iron gate. I sat on the ground with my back against the stone balustrade. I managed to get the sketch started before closing time. A palace and garden well worth visiting! A palace owned by a royal rich family passed down through generations. They loved art so it’s full different inspiration from the 17-18th century Italian, Gothic, Arab, and Portuguese. The garden is dedicated to different Kings, the goddess Venus, and the terrace is dedicated to the 7 liberal arts. Inside is full of paintings, and objects gathered from different countries. The artists that painted some of the tiles were also low key trolls because they painted some humorous stuff hidden in some of the details.
